The Modeling Hermit Posted October 15, 2011 Posted October 15, 2011 (edited) This is my current project. It's a Dodge COE that's becoming a local Dodge dealer race car hauler circa 1969. The changes to the interior include air conditioning, sunroof, custom bucket seats & console, different gearshift, sun visors, oval steering wheel from 1959/60, custom pedals, and stereo speakers. I had too much chrome on the engine, and never could get a good picture of it. I took the stock engine and reworked it to somewhat resemble a 340 6pack. Here one can see things coming together. The Modeling Hermit Posted October 15, 2011 Author Posted October 15, 2011 Body detail is being added. The Dodge has been "stacked". I used aluminum tubing for the stacks, and the mufflers are simply one size larger, slipped over the original stacks. The wheels and tires are AMT units as are the horns. The car hauler body is starting to take shape. More progress is being made. There's still a lot of work to be done, but it sure looks different than the pile of plastic pieces I had a couple of weeks ago.
stewart Posted October 16, 2011 Posted October 16, 2011 That looks great. Can't wait to see it done. STewart
Truck parts Posted October 17, 2011 Posted October 17, 2011 WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THAT IS OUTSTANDING WORK ON WHAT YOU HAVE DONE SO FAR.
The Modeling Hermit Posted October 17, 2011 Author Posted October 17, 2011 These old Dodges had sad faces. Sorry about the glare. Lights are from the parts box. My printer has decided to be a pain, so decals will have to wait. I'd forgot to add exhaust bracing, but caught that before I had the hauler body on, so correcting that was a simple thing. In 1969, this would have been arriving at the track in style.
crazyjim Posted October 17, 2011 Posted October 17, 2011 That looks good. I have one of those Dodges sitting around and might have to try building something like that.
Jim B Posted October 17, 2011 Posted October 17, 2011 Neat idea. I like tha last pic. Looks like it's hauing all of those model boxes.
tooltas Posted November 7, 2011 Posted November 7, 2011 now all that truck needs is a nice 66/70 dodge funny car or afx dragers
