Crazy Ed Posted October 25, 2011 Posted October 25, 2011 Hi There I'm having a problem with both the Clear and White BMF Decal papers. I tried emailing them twice with no reply. Attached is an image of the results I got using their clear, and the results were the same with the white: I'm using a HP 2605dtm. So any of you out there with BMF Decal for Laser Printer experience that might have suggestions?
Lunajammer Posted October 25, 2011 Posted October 25, 2011 It almost looks like the surface doesn't take and set the inks before the handling mechanisms spit it out. Are you sure you have a laser printer or is it an ink jet printer? I was once told by a printer that the paper is too thick. It's heavier than the most common card stocks they print. It gets squashed a little too hard by the handling mechanisms. However that was ten years ago and I would think that sort of thing would be less of an issue these days.
Longbox55 Posted October 25, 2011 Posted October 25, 2011 I've been having the exact same problem. On the clear, I did manage to find a solution that worked, I coated the paper with Tamiya TS-80 Flat Clear. It didn't work quite as well on the white paper. Seems that only the top 3" will print properly without image transfer on the lower part with the white sprayed with the TS-80.
Jon Cole Posted October 26, 2011 Posted October 26, 2011 Do not run it through the printer. Instead, print a master copy on quality photo paper. Take that, and the decal film to a good quality copy & print shop. Have them run the decal film through the machine as they copy your master print.
Darin Bastedo Posted October 26, 2011 Posted October 26, 2011 I find on my Oki5100n running it throgh on the transpaency setting
Aaronw Posted October 26, 2011 Posted October 26, 2011 Try setting it to photo paper or highest gloss. I had a similar problem the first time I used a laser printer and that took care of the problem.
Crazy Ed Posted October 26, 2011 Author Posted October 26, 2011 Well this isn't looking good......... Yes Mike I'm sure it's a Laser Printer Bill thank's for the suggestion. Gonna have to think about that one. Jon although that might work I'm a bit rural for that to be a viable option. Darin it seems the Transparency setting isn't an option as I'm unable to highlight it!? Thanks to all for the replies.
