Hello Ira, it was nice meeting you at the NNL West! I must admit wondering how this would turn out.....The first time I tried to look, my computer was acting up, so no images.....grrrr "But I can see clearly now" as the song goes.... Now I really like it! Very creative, and like someone else said, the Pro Mods do look a bit exaggerated. I'll be checking in on this one.

I agree, Andy! The way some of today's Pro-Mods are starting to look, I could totally envision this car competing in the class!

I'm REALLY diggin' the way this car is turning out.. Definitely unique and DEFINITELY cool! B)

Thanks for your comments Wayne!

I made a little progress on the ZZZ-28 this weekend!

I started setting up the Headers and a way of mounting them.

First I cut eight 1" lengths of plastic tubing and cleaned them up. Then I set each set of the 4 pipes up 1/8" back on each one. Next glue was applied.

I measured and figured where the Headers should exit the body and I cut a slot on each side.

I cut away part of the Belly pan to make room for the Headers.

Then I fit a piece of sheet plastic to fit between the body sides, along the slot for the Headers.

Here are the Headers in position. Looks like a good fit!

Loving all the raw styrene, please keep it going.

Great concept, and I'm loving the way you're executing it, Ira! What color are you planning to paint it?

Thanks Ken!

I am think I'm going with the Skull Decals/Theme. Colors: Metalflake Silver, Candy Blue &Gunmetal.

I don't think so. I'm not made of money, unfortunately....And no lottery wins yet.... If that was the case, I'd be living in SoCal during the winters.

I made some progress with the SKULL Driver!

He had 2 fingers up in a peace sign. I cut the middle finger and carved it to fit in the fist.

Now the driver is giving the Number One sign.

I made a back for the SKULL and did some jaw surgery to close the mouth a bit. I also added plastic strips to build up the jaw bone.

I painted the body with Testors Diamond Dust Silver and Tamiya Mica Blue.

I am looking forward to applying the SKULL Decals, this should be fun!

I cut off the front of the frame and then cut 1/2" from the center. Glued it back together and put bracing in to strengthen the joint.

This will allow me to mount the rear tires and tuck them in under the body.

Here is the first SKULL Decal I applied on the body.

It would have been easy on a flat surface but these contours were a challenge. I cut the decal in several places to reduce the stress and allow it to lay down. Using Q-tips and a sharp blade I got the decal to lay down pretty good.

The Slixx Decal held up pretty well during the process and should look great after touch-up and the clear coat is applied.
