simonr Posted May 9, 2007 Posted May 9, 2007 I would like to send my congrats to all GSL attendants and to the GSL organizers with Mark S. Gustavson on its head, for put together again such an impressive and awesome show. I consider myself that wether a modeler who won an award or not, just the honor and braveness of being there amog some of the world's best modelers it's a great vitory. Special thanks to all you great modelers who share you great knowledgements about modeling and most important your great friendship with me and everyone else, you guys....are the best! I hope it won't be my last GSL, since I already started to plan to GSL 2009. To all those who hadn't been here, think about the next one, I know you guys won't be dissapointed and you will think like all of us who had have such a nice and great weekend of modeling and friendship. It was so great that, the show's award ceremony ended like at noon, and I was with the Jim, Vince, Gregg Nichols and the rest of the Town of Newburgh Model Car Club checking pictures and internet via wireless with my laptop at the Hotel's lobby. It looked like we didn't wanted to stop the weekend! Again, it was a great pleasure to see again old friends, like to meet new ones. Like it can be told....GSL, the best place to be at! Adjournment to 2009! Simon Rivera
Modelmartin Posted May 10, 2007 Posted May 10, 2007 Simon, You deserve an award for building the Tameo 312! That kit is not for the faint-of-heart. You built it so perfectly too. It was one of my favorite models in the show! See you in '09
James W Posted May 11, 2007 Posted May 11, 2007 It was great to see you and your whole family at GSL. I enjoyed seeing them there. Gregg has been bragging about your work and it's good to see he was not exaggerating. Your work is truley awsome!
bob paeth Posted May 11, 2007 Posted May 11, 2007 I would add to what already has been said. It is truely the greatest contest that you will ever be able to attend. The planning that goes into an event such as this is unimaginable. Three and a half days with no problems, everything was like "clockwork". While Mark Gustavson deserves a lot of credit, let us not forget the many members of the Utah club who did the behind-the-scenes work. Arranging the museum tours, the seminars, the checking in of the models, the security, the questions answered, you name it, they were all there. I, too, would emphasize, the idea of planning for the 2009 gathering. bob
MrObsessive Posted May 12, 2007 Posted May 12, 2007 It was good seeing you and your family Simón! I didn't really "compete" this year as I went on short notice, but I'll have a couple brand new entries for the '09 show. Hope to see you and everyone else then!
Modelmartin Posted May 12, 2007 Posted May 12, 2007 Oh No! I was hoping to build something killer to compete for the big one out there in 2009 but with Bill setting his sights on it it may not be possible! I will simply have to try harder. I had a great time meeting and talking with everyone that I got to meet and talk with. I missed some of you guys but I hope to rectify that in the future.
