Evil Appetite Posted November 20, 2011 Posted November 20, 2011 Has anyone ever used this? I just tried it. it was really clumpy in the bottle...not just settled at the bottom but clumpy. I shook it up, seemed fine, then went on horribly. I followed the directions on the bottle regarding psi. didnt say anything about thinning. I shouldnt have to thin this stuff right?
Joe Handley Posted November 20, 2011 Posted November 20, 2011 Never used the stuff, last time I airbrushed the lexan stuff down I had to use an acrylic and have have found that the Pactra Backing Black for some of the multistage RC paints also works fantastically for the rattle can chrome. Since it seems to smell and behave like Enamel paint, it should be styrene safe.
Chillyb1 Posted November 20, 2011 Posted November 20, 2011 I use it a love it. But I've never had a problem with its consistency.
Longbox55 Posted November 20, 2011 Posted November 20, 2011 I've never had a problem with either, exept the one time I tried to use it as a base for a topcoat other than Alclad (lifted horribly). I have found that applying it using the Norbie Technique (Low Pressure, In Close To Surface) works very well in getting the smooth finish needed for the Alclad to do its thing. Same method also is ideal for applying the Alclad Chrome, just cut the pressure back from 12 psi to no more than 5-10 psi.
Evil Appetite Posted November 20, 2011 Author Posted November 20, 2011 Thanks for the input guys...I'll shoot some more tomorrow and see what happens
