Foxer Posted December 31, 2011 Posted December 31, 2011 Somehow I missed the start of this, but going thru it all was thoroughly enjoyable! I got really worked up on the bodywork .. I'm calmer now.
Ira Posted December 31, 2011 Author Posted December 31, 2011 (edited) More. More. More. I'm working as fast as I can! Edited January 2, 2012 by Ira
Ira Posted January 1, 2012 Author Posted January 1, 2012 Color? Well ... To be honest, Ira, I kept thinking ... this shape reminds me of something ... then, the moment I saw the overhead shot ... it came to me instantly! KERMIT!! That car looks like a FROG! Paint it candy apple green ... or bright lime green ... call it 'Kermit' or 'Kermy' ... and no one will think you missed the obvious! Looking good so far and I'm confident it will turn out great no matter what color scheme you settle on! I LIKE GREEN!!! Sounds like a good Idea! Maybe Testors Lime Ice with Flames...
Ira Posted January 1, 2012 Author Posted January 1, 2012 (edited) It does have a frog shape. Green would work - as long as it's SHINY :) Gotta sign off now. It's Friday night and I have to get ready for pizza, popcorn, and WWE Friday Night Smackdown. Have a great evening. Thanks Jim! Edited January 1, 2012 by Ira

Ira Posted January 1, 2012 Author Posted January 1, 2012 COOL WILLY GOT NO BUTT! Now that we have a seat for Willys Deal, I need to get the rest of the driver "Cool Willy" together! I started with the Deals Wheels "Stink Ray" Drivers head and a body from a Formula One car. I cut the body in half so I could add width to the center of the chest. I added about 5/16" width to the with strip plastic and then glued the body back together. I cut the body in half again to change the angle of the back, so that it fits the seat better. After removing some plastic from the middle, I glued the body back together at the new angle.
Ira Posted January 1, 2012 Author Posted January 1, 2012 A Few Minor Adjustments... I needed to change the angle of the knees so I cut the backsides of the knees. Thats better! Glued them back at better angles and added some putty. With a little shaping and sanding the body is coming together! Now for a little primer. Here is the body, seated with the head resing in place. Now I have to try to fit Cool Willys Big head inside the interior...

Psychographic Posted January 2, 2012 Posted January 2, 2012 The heck with Kermit Ira. Do a search for Poison Dart Frogs, I bet you find them much more interesting the Kermit Green. No offence to any Kermit fans.

crazyjim Posted January 3, 2012 Posted January 3, 2012 I don't think it's fair. Frogs are supposed to be green. Fire trucks are supposed to be red. McDonalds has yellow arches. Is nothing sacred anymore?
Dr. Cranky Posted January 3, 2012 Posted January 3, 2012 Again , I can't wait to see this one painted and done in 2012.
