Lownslow Posted November 23, 2011 Posted November 23, 2011 this is pretty much gonna be a box stock build with some light detailing im doing it as a favor to my exs brother for her, this has always been her dream car so i decided to do it up right. hit it with some testors artic blue im totaly not digging the black walls
Lownslow Posted November 23, 2011 Author Posted November 23, 2011 i got these decals from bill a while back been dying to try them out but it took a while to get to a proper muscle car. theyre very well done this is after sealing them with testors flat clear laquer. changed the attitude of the car

Greg Pugh Posted November 23, 2011 Posted November 23, 2011 White-lettered tires are a must-have for muscle cars as far as I'm concerned.
Lownslow Posted January 28, 2012 Author Posted January 28, 2012 this got pulled out and close to completion
Haubenschild Posted January 28, 2012 Posted January 28, 2012 Great work ! , I love that deep blue paint! , is it a revell or AMT kit?

Dr. Cranky Posted January 28, 2012 Posted January 28, 2012 Clean and beautiful. Smooth too. Nice model in the works. Congrats.
Dirkpitt289 Posted January 28, 2012 Posted January 28, 2012 Nice work Frank. I see you foil your window frames in one shot. That must make the task pretty quick but uses a lot of foil

That must make the task pretty quick but uses a lot of foil been trying to it does look better, i dont mind i have a seemingly endless supply and once i learned the right grit to hone blades i dont change them out as much.

Want to see ift finished Thank You for sharing Later Russ thanks, i put the decals on used the hottest decal set available then i gave them a semi gloss clear then a flat clear. a guy sells them on ebay ive been trying to get a second set but i never have enough when i run my numbers.
LAone Posted January 28, 2012 Posted January 28, 2012 sweet looking chevelle. i like the overall look on it. the wheels highlight the color nicely. ive been wanting to get some of that micro foil adhesive but always forget to look for it at the LHS. besides some foils look better than bmf.
rmvw guy Posted January 28, 2012 Posted January 28, 2012 Beautiful job so far! Love the color, looks just right. So that's how you do BMF! I'm always trying to two, three or four piece something like that with terrible results That's why I swiched to painting my chrome...Will have to try your method. Thanks for sharing. Looking forward to seeing it "Under Glass."

moparmagiclives Posted January 28, 2012 Posted January 28, 2012 Great looking car. I have a question on your foil use. Do you always cut out the whole window shape and trim it that way? Don't you burn up a lot of foil? Does it come out better in one piece?

Don't you burn up a lot of foil? Does it come out better in one piece? usually when im being lazy doing tin foil in strips around windows is counter productive timewise. unless its a complicated set up ill do it in 2 tiers like the rear window. i always have enough scraps to do door handles and any other minor foiling ive yet to do name badge trim with it cause its too thick for that. nah ive had that roll 2 years almost its barely half way used
