maltsr Posted April 21, 2012 Posted April 21, 2012 Great question maybe a new one i think this one has mostly production cars Hi guys There are a few racecar builds going on here, mainly 'road course'. Should they continue here or can the new thread be expanded to include ALMS, JGTC etc as suggested earlier by Jonathan? I have just received a Martini Alfa Romeo which I'd like to share with you, once I have the courage to tackle the ageing, yellowed cracked decals
hotrod59f100 Posted April 21, 2012 Posted April 21, 2012 I Would but the only race kits I have are the zackspeed ford capri turbo , and porsche 911 gt2 road version.
martinfan5 Posted April 22, 2012 Author Posted April 22, 2012 (edited) I agree that it would be better if the CBP was open to more racing class's , as there are so many great race car kits to be built out there. Paul, I sent you a friends request on Face Book Edited April 22, 2012 by martinfan5
Scuderia Posted April 22, 2012 Posted April 22, 2012 thats good thinking yeha for sure i dont know how many diff kits are out there to do others so Jon if you have an idea you cna start it up
hotrod59f100 Posted April 22, 2012 Posted April 22, 2012 I finally got the paint to lay down on my Nsx. Got the interior almost finished. I stole the turbos of of a 300zx eng . I'll have pics tonite.

Jared Roach Posted April 22, 2012 Posted April 22, 2012 So I got my interior finished and the body on the the chassis for good. I also painted all of the window trim and installed the glass. I hate the way the tail lights came out, but live and learn.
martinfan5 Posted April 22, 2012 Author Posted April 22, 2012 (edited) I just saw this post on SPC UK lol, the interior really looks good Getting back to building, havent built anything since I finished up the TGUS cars, been wanting get this kit for awhile, and almost bought it on ebay, but waited tell after this weekend model show, and my luck, I found for $10, yay me, and even better, Scale Finish's was on hand, and picked a bottle of Rosso Corsa paint for $5, yay for me again. Ferrari kits are my eleanor ,something always goes wrong. I have built five Ferrari kits, two are a complete glue bomb, and the other three, well those all had several trips to the purple pond, I always have problems with Ferrari kits, why, I dont know. This will be OOB build, to go along with my F430 Scuderia kit Edited April 23, 2012 by martinfan5
hotrod59f100 Posted April 23, 2012 Posted April 23, 2012 Well currently this is where the body and paint sits still have to finish the motor and some suspension work.
martinfan5 Posted April 23, 2012 Author Posted April 23, 2012 That is looking good, I like to color, what paint did you use, you got the wing from one of the fast and furious kits , I cant remember if it was the supra or the eclipse
hotrod59f100 Posted April 23, 2012 Posted April 23, 2012 The color is purple licious testors one coat lacquer . Wing is from the supra. I'm building a replica of a car I raced in gt2 .
martinfan5 Posted April 23, 2012 Author Posted April 23, 2012 I loving getting build ideas from the GT series
martinfan5 Posted April 23, 2012 Author Posted April 23, 2012 (edited) Well this F430 build is not starting out good, a few very important parts are warped And doing some work, removed one of the engine piece's that was attached to engine brace, I think it will just look better, and easier to paint both pieces as well Edited April 23, 2012 by martinfan5
hotrod59f100 Posted April 23, 2012 Posted April 23, 2012 I hate that when parts are warped. Love the car tho.
Nick Winter Posted April 23, 2012 Posted April 23, 2012 Getting closer. Progress from over the weekend.
Nick Winter Posted April 23, 2012 Posted April 23, 2012 More progress. Pretty much winging it as I don't know whats missing from this kit (bought it started from a deceased Modellers collection) and I don't know much about the 1:1's Nick
ARTEMIS1759 Posted April 23, 2012 Posted April 23, 2012 Good stuff. I was just thinking when I saw Nick's progress someone should build one of those fugly CUBE Van, car thing a majigs into a appocolypse car.
martinfan5 Posted April 24, 2012 Author Posted April 24, 2012 (edited) Nick, its looking good Painted the engine and engine brace with krylon matte aluminum And got the interior piece's primed Edited April 24, 2012 by martinfan5
martinfan5 Posted April 24, 2012 Author Posted April 24, 2012 (edited) Opps, well trying to get the parts back into shape did not work Edited April 24, 2012 by martinfan5
Scuderia Posted April 24, 2012 Posted April 24, 2012 Hmm was that the hot water trick? Tough break about the chassis man. Do you have a spare pan?
martinfan5 Posted April 24, 2012 Author Posted April 24, 2012 (edited) Hmm was that the hot water trick? Tough break about the chassis man. Do you have a spare pan? Lol yea, a little to hot water, It would of been fine, but I stepped outside do something model related, came back to find that. I placed a parts replace order for all three of them. I am thinking about putting the engine I pulled out of my glued bombed Enzo into the 430 Edited April 25, 2012 by martinfan5
hotrod59f100 Posted April 25, 2012 Posted April 25, 2012 That sucks. I hate warped kits I killed a old tamiya kit due to trying to pull the body out .
martinfan5 Posted April 25, 2012 Author Posted April 25, 2012 (edited) I have been lucky, well that ran out. I have two more kits on the way for this CBP While waiting for the replacement parts, I decided to work on a glue bomb, I did repaint this once already, didnt like the way it looked, so going to try again Edited April 26, 2012 by martinfan5
hotrod59f100 Posted April 28, 2012 Posted April 28, 2012 I love them civic kit I have 4 like that 3 hb and 2 95s with the clear hood.
martinfan5 Posted April 28, 2012 Author Posted April 28, 2012 I never liked the 1:1 Civics, but the kits is nice, I wish that when I built it, my talents were the like they are now, its really bad, and there was only so much I could do
