Tony, your wasting time talking to this - er - ah - (person), he seems to have a "major problem" with learning anything, no-matter what you, or anybody else might tell him.

He seems to know it all, so it might be better to just leave him alone, it's like poking a snake with a stick, each time you do it, he rears his ugly head again with more terrible photo's. Please, please ------------ NO MORE.

Hi Tony, again thank you for your input on this and also for the soldering tips as well. At this time I am using 4 different types of solder sizes and 4 different toruches as well of different types too. Like I said before my friend has alot of money tied up into the parts that he had bought and I don't want to see the fame fall apart at all. So I'm going over kill on it to make sure it has it's very very best max secure holds.

Now about the axle housing, if you would look more close, you would have noyice something, and I even posted photos of it as well afew photos of it up and yet you speak about it as well. I did use square tubing! then round tubing inside it, it's shown in the photos all the way down through the photos. At all the photos of how the stuff was made.

Plus for the record you all, I'm not going for a model type fill looking here build, my friend wanted the model to fill real as well and much as possible as well, and to have a show look and also worked used look as well, as the real truck is show and is also used to haul stuff back and forth as well to companys. Plus my friend doesn't want this model to fall apart either.

This model project, is suppose to have.

1) looks like a model, but not though.

2) 1/24 scale weight of the real truck.

3) working and funcion lights as well like a real truck has.

Average weight of a real Mack Superliner or most any other model tractor is approximately 17,000 pounds.

Have fun moving around 708 pounds of model!!!!

Wow Guys this topic has gone way off point! Tony, You need to brush up on your constructive criticism skills such as your choice of wording. Myself along with many others would precieve some of your comments offensive. There are better ways to offer tips and help by choosing your wording correctly.Honestly I would not ever go to the lenghts and meausures Jim has done on this build however I applaude him for being a fellow modeler and thinking out side of the box and making a creative build that he and his freind seem to enjoy along with many of us here following. Mardtrp with all do respect please dont stir the pot and make these threads into trash talking debates. Lets all get back on point and move on.

I been working on this more, finally got the rear axle housings done but still want to make the guts yet though for in the housings. I'm also at the linement spot as well for making sure the tires are all line up right and even and stright.

Note: I still have to finish up the leaf mounts, this all is still all in rought stage yet just so you all know.

Hi David, No I was not aware of that, my friend told me to make the chassic the same as the kit one, so thats what I been trying to do. Thanks for the info, semi's is not my thing kinda but they are growing on me though how ever. I been looking up Mack stuff for the last few weeks or months now trying to find chassis's of Macks, pressly the 1986 to 87 ones but hardly no luck on it though. Thanks for the chassis info.

Okay, had some issues come up on this that slowed me down alittle on it but I got I back on track though. Still working in the rear, on the axles and also now the brake units as well. The rims that my friend Mark bought for the project was to wide so I had to shorted them down alittle. He now likes the wideness of them to. The first few photos is before I spoted the issue with the rims.

Right here was when I notice the wideness of the rims. The front rims (your look at the rear of the frame, but the front is pose to match the rear outer side rear tires line, and all outter side of the rims pose to aling withthe front and also stay under the hood fenders as well, when at this point they was not as you can see.

Here is the rims, the one on the right has been cut down, the one on the left is wideness that my friend Mark got originally. The one on the right is the wideness that we are going for and are after.

Also the resin fenders that Mark bought afew years back fits on and ocer the modified rims I worked on, where as they will not fit on or over the unmodified rims he got though. Unmodifiedrim on left side, Modified rim on right side.

Remember that my friend bought both the rims and fenders about 3 years ago and to my understanding was told they would fit each other.. which they didn't.

Now here is a shot looking down at axles, tires and frame. Things all in rought stange yet.
