I am working at hopefully maybe having another small update up tonight as well Jim you are a man of few words, but many tallents. Looking good. Jim, thank you also for your kind comment too man. I do my best at things. If I feel I need to explain something then I do an then I also let the progress photos speak as well. Sometimes few words are good an yet the photos does the speaking job. If anyone of you see something an would like to know how I pulled it off, please don't be afraid to ask me at all. I'll do my best to answer.
MoparWoman Jamie Posted February 17, 2012 Author Posted February 17, 2012 I manage to get the first piece together. It's only mocked up. I still have some work to do in there yet.
MoparWoman Jamie Posted February 17, 2012 Author Posted February 17, 2012 The rim. I took an looked at it. I wanted to give it alittle more detail so I started to add a valve stem by drilling into the rim from the other side. I used a cloth pin as the stem an glued it in place. I also took shorten down the leaf hanger that is close to the tire.
catd11rpusher Posted February 18, 2012 Posted February 18, 2012 Nice job on the airbags just a idea how about a big piece of shrink tubing for the airbags a big piece if it even works. Love the detail, I'm going to get a key made so you can drive it.
MoparWoman Jamie Posted February 18, 2012 Author Posted February 18, 2012 Nice job on the airbags just a idea how about a big piece of shrink tubing for the airbags a big piece if it even works. Love the detail, I'm going to get a key made so you can drive it. Askly, that was my first idea I had, but my friend wanted the air bags to work. Shrink wrap wouldn't fold in like vinyl electric tape does, after noticing that, that was why I went with the tape for. But your idea was the very 1st I tried though. There is alot more detail to go into this project yet. It would be nice if this little rig could be turn key model an drive away with.
MoparWoman Jamie Posted February 25, 2012 Author Posted February 25, 2012 Hi you all, well things kinda slowed down last week on this.. but is picking back up though. I'm not working in the front of the project.
MoparWoman Jamie Posted February 25, 2012 Author Posted February 25, 2012 I needed a certain kind of fabric, so I took a shoe apart, to get what I needed out of it. LOL Afew mock ups
MoparWoman Jamie Posted March 24, 2012 Author Posted March 24, 2012 Well I know it's been alittle while sense I did an update on this project. I been working at building this projects in units. I scratch built new leaf springs for in the front as well. Had a hood fitment issue also came up. I swear this project been fighting me sense almost day 1. The plastic isn't all that good either an the cab is almost a glue bomb anymore and had pieces replaced. The chrome on the grill was bad that when I put tape on it an went to pull the tape off the chrome came off with the tape!. So I used aluminum tape like BMF for on the grill. The top piece of the grill my friend wants me to make the same color as the truck so that's why I left the center area raw for. Plus I had to scratch build a new hood hanger as well an mounting bracket an pins. I also had to take an extend the front axle out afew hairs as well. The hood is just temp glued into place.
MoparWoman Jamie Posted March 24, 2012 Author Posted March 24, 2012 The front leafs. New hood hinge. The new hood hinge brace to keep the hood straight.
MoparWoman Jamie Posted March 24, 2012 Author Posted March 24, 2012 Lower shot of the hood brace. Glued temp into place. Shot of the first row of rear axles which is still being work on as well.
MoparWoman Jamie Posted March 24, 2012 Author Posted March 24, 2012 The turn signal locations which I will have to work on also yet. Afew other areas that needs work. I said I had to extend the front axle out afew hairs.
MoparWoman Jamie Posted March 24, 2012 Author Posted March 24, 2012 (edited) Last one for this update. You can see here how the tires fits the wheel wheels just right now sense I extended the front axle. Edited March 24, 2012 by zerodude
