MikeMc Posted November 30, 2011 Posted November 30, 2011 (edited) Heres mine: Edited November 30, 2011 by MikeMc
peter31a Posted November 30, 2011 Posted November 30, 2011 I was playing with mine this evening. I dry fit the pontoons but I'm not sure how to blend them in especially at the front and whether the fender character 'hump' should be extended into the pontoon. Yours is looking good so far.
Dr. Cranky Posted November 30, 2011 Posted November 30, 2011 I've got mine painted, now all I have to do is start working on the rest . . .
Dr. Cranky Posted November 30, 2011 Posted November 30, 2011 Beautiful color, James. Classy looking model. Great job.
LoneWolf15 Posted November 30, 2011 Posted November 30, 2011 Mine's in the brake fluid ! Bad bottle of paint , old , should have strained it , I know better ! Worked out for the best though , seems that Mikey Mc and I had chosen the exact same color ! Hmmm , so twisted minds do think alike ? Kathie wanted it done in her K's color so I will happily oblige her on this one . Problem being , every car done in her color , becomes her car ! There's something seriously wrong with that scenario !
MachinistMark Posted November 30, 2011 Posted November 30, 2011 in the middle of moving to our first house... one of mine is done, the other is in moving limbo
Eshaver Posted November 30, 2011 Posted November 30, 2011 Virgil, I had the pleasure to have been next, well accross the isile from Donn a couple of years agoat a model show here in Virginia . Donn demonstrated painting techniques the entire day and I found him a pleasure to have had on board . Donn, thank you for making the T A M 's show a sucess that year ! Ed Shaver
Dr. Cranky Posted November 30, 2011 Posted November 30, 2011 Lucky you, Ed. I think Donn's over in Pittsburgh, which puts him about 1800 miles away from me! One of these days I hope we all cross paths at the NNL East or some other show.

Kathie expressed an interest in vending at the Old Dominion show again . Always a pleasure to see you , old friend ! Virgil , It's a date for the NNL East this year ! Kathie already has the reservations made. We will be there with bells on ! Such a great event , so little time to hang out , Sigh !!! Pretty soon though , retirement , then The Old Man is going to put on the Travelin' Bones ! Mikey Mc , Virgil , Daryl , who knows , maybe even Greg ! Hang out , do a little airbrush work , hmmm , I can relate !
Dr. Cranky Posted November 30, 2011 Posted November 30, 2011 Sounds good, buddy. It would be a blast to get a group of builders together and crank up the paint booth!
LoneWolf15 Posted November 30, 2011 Posted November 30, 2011 Remember hanging out at a local garage , a group of friends working on each others cars ? Simply put , I miss it ! We still do it on occasion , not as often as we used to but.... Now the model shop is starting to become the hangout ! What better way to spend a winter day ? Hanging out , airbrushing , building , busting stones , does it get any better than that ? Jack Bouman was just at the shop , Bob Dudek is coming for a weekend after the new year , the Dover Destroyer & Co is heading in come March for 4 days . Anybody else ? Lmao !
Chuck Most Posted November 30, 2011 Posted November 30, 2011 Chuck, the pic did not come through! Yep- there is no pic. Still haven't picked this one up. NOT quite as pumped up about it now as I was when I first saw it.
LoneWolf15 Posted November 30, 2011 Posted November 30, 2011 Yep- there is no pic. Still haven't picked this one up. NOT quite as pumped up about it now as I was when I first saw it. Not to be pushy ....... Buuuuutttttt ! I think you should rethink your position on this one ! It is impressive , and I'm generally not a custom oriented individual ! It is a very nice kit with tremendous potential !
Chuck Most Posted December 1, 2011 Posted December 1, 2011 Oh, I agree! I had plans to buy several of them once the pics of what came in the kit started leaking out, but for whatever reason, I started losing interest in them the moment I saw people building them. Usually the opposite is true for me. I think it's because I was more interested in the custom parts that came with the kit, and the go-fast stuff for the Flattie, than the actual car itself. I don't know. The kit's still out there, so I guess I've got time to still consider it. I'm pretty sure I'll end up with at least a couple of them by the time it's all said and done. And besides... If I (and the rest of us) buy enough of this one, maybe Revell will see fit to tool up a coupe with a stock-height roof!
LoneWolf15 Posted December 1, 2011 Posted December 1, 2011 I see at least 3 for me . There are a few things that I found that needed to be corrected , beyond that .... It's Katie bar the door ! I would love to see a standard height also , I would be buying more than a few if this version were to come about . We'll have to wait and see .
MachinistMark Posted December 1, 2011 Posted December 1, 2011 ive already got 2, and plan to build at least 5 more.
