Back on 12/8/11 I posted 12 pictures of some of my Street Rod builds.

Today I tried posting some pics of Customs that I built (in the Under Glass section) and it is telling me that the file for the pic I'm trying to post is too big...!!!

The pics I posted on 12/8 and the ones I tried to post today are all the same size JPEGS.

Can someone please tell me what is going on...?? Is there a problem with the site...??

Thanks for your help.

Nope.....Forum auto sizes.

Are you using a hosting site, like fokti or photobucket ?

If you are attaching them get a free host site...

this one is File Size: 433 kb - 1280 x 960

Another point: Forget trying to upload to the forum directly from your computer. It appears you have used up the allowable amount of memory for doing so - there is a small limit to the amount of kb you can use and very few applications for doing that (you can do it with your avatar). You MUST have an image hosting site. They're free.

Mike, you're reading my mind. (PS - if there are duplications between my comments and yours, that's because we were posting at the same time without knowing what the other was saying.)

Let me just say that I think the process for posting pictures is lost down in the Tips, Tricks and Tutorials section and would at least be a bit more noticeable if duplicated and pinned in General (or maybe ALL forums). It also needs to be updated and add clear methods for using not only Photobucket but including Fotki and Flickr, if there are any differences.

Actually, we could probably use a whole separate forum on this issue, appearing just below General. That would be hard to miss. Subforums like:

• General guidelines (pinned and locked) - also includes how to post an avatar or signature image.

• Photobucket (pinned and locked)

• Fotki (pinned and locked)

• Flickr (pinned and locked)

• How to shoot and crop images

• Discussion / Q&A (open for comment and new threads)

I woorking on it.

I changed a setting for images in control panel, see if that helps.

Doing videos or screen shot captures for the above, been on the list to do for a while....

Most people ignore pinned topics.

I understand, but my thought was that it wouldn't be ignored if it was its own forum like General, On the Workbench, Under Glass, etc., appearing just under General in the upper, main section.
