Tuffy's Garage Posted May 18, 2007 Posted May 18, 2007 Saw this one and was wondering if its a repaint or factory? I thought they only came in Red, Yellow, White and Black for this car?
Zoom Zoom Posted May 18, 2007 Posted May 18, 2007 Saw this one and was wondering if its a repaint or factory? I thought they only came in Red, Yellow, White and Black for this car? It's likely a factory color. Testarossas came in a wide variety of colors, Ferrari has always offered many colors though most go w/"resale red", and because of Miami Vice many were white. Black, silver and yellow are also relatively common in the small world of Testarossas.
ismaelg Posted May 18, 2007 Posted May 18, 2007 Hi Charlie, I just replied to your PM Ferrari usually allows the customers to order any car is any color, current, past or custom. They also have an extensive range of blues. That sometimes makes difficult to identify the colors. From the picture, it looks like Ferrari Azzurro Met code 515C. This color was available in the early 90's and probably before that as well. There are other similar colors but I think California Azzurro is more silverish, and NART blue is darker, and Tour de France blue is also darker. Azzurro Hyperion 517 could be another possibility, but I'm more inclined to the Ferrari Azzurro met. I hope this helps. Anyway, Ferraris always look good in any shade of blue Thanks,
Zoom Zoom Posted May 18, 2007 Posted May 18, 2007 Ferraris always look good in any shade of blue Yes, they do! Here's a Rosso 512 TR I built (same car as the one pictured) in Grigio Alloy, so it would be officially a "repaint" as Grigio Alloy was introduced on the 360 Modena. The color is stunning in person outdoors. I gave this one to a friend when he moved away, I've got a Monogram 512 TR to build and have a set of Rosso wheels/tires for it. I think it will be Ferrari yellow 8)
JAFFA Posted May 18, 2007 Posted May 18, 2007 Actually, i think thats the same paint as Bam Margeras Ferri.
Merkur XR4Ti Posted May 21, 2007 Posted May 21, 2007 I finally finished my 612 (photos coming soon) and used a Honda touchup paint that was vvery close to Grigio Alloy. It's a great color for those Scags!
