cossett Posted December 22, 2011 Posted December 22, 2011 What are peoples thoughts about spliting Model Trucks forum up into Builds(On the Workbench) & General Discussion so it is easier to read & find the builds and general discussion topics Cheers Tracy
mackinac359 Posted December 22, 2011 Posted December 22, 2011 Other forums have the builds from the finished models separate sections. I find it more difficult to keep up with things that way. I guess I'm getting old, one spot, find it all. Tim
Old Albion Posted December 22, 2011 Posted December 22, 2011 I'm not keen on the idea of seperate sections for builds and discussions. Many of the discussions stem around a build topic and question the need for splitting them. I do think that it would be good if we could have certain topics pinned to top of the truck forum, for example the thread about engine types and colours. Dave
Truck parts Posted December 22, 2011 Posted December 22, 2011 I have mix feelings on this. Yes it would be easy to find things you are looking for,but people may not check out what was on the other site as much.
ewaskew Posted December 22, 2011 Posted December 22, 2011 Well I started my own forum for the heck of and It's very slow right now untill other's get on there and kick it off. However that is not a problem for me. It's my first time setting one up and I have thing's lined up and easy to get to for wip then finished under it. Anyone is welcome to go there and join or just see the way it's layed out. http://www.epms.proboards.com
Wagoneer81 Posted December 22, 2011 Posted December 22, 2011 I say 'No'... I don't think that there is enough going on here to justify subdividing the threads again. I like things as they are.
cowboysevens Posted December 22, 2011 Posted December 22, 2011 I like it just the way it is right now , it works well for this board. I SAY NO, DO NOT CHANGE THE TRUCK FORUM

Turbo590 Posted December 23, 2011 Posted December 23, 2011 Especially the one you tried to run Absolutely!!! I wish Earl, the best in his "new" venture.
ewaskew Posted December 23, 2011 Posted December 23, 2011 Earl, Why are you waiting for others to get on there and kick it off? If you want the forum to be a success then you need to push things along a bit. Make it known that you have a forum, potential members don't know you have a forum unless you tell them. Well that's why I posted something on here. There's no big push on my part. Go ahead and join up and start posting. I check it daily like all the forum's that I'm on. I've seen some of your work and it's very nice. Like I said it will be slow for a while.

Earl I would definately watch who you let in your forum, some folks just don't jive with a lot of others out here. ; )

I'm going to post something in the General area here about it and see what happen's.
Hessel Hemstra Posted December 23, 2011 Posted December 23, 2011 To spilt up the forum is a choice of everyone hem/herself. Here in Holland we have a forum with building reports and Photo's without a report. Both work but to be honest I'm always on the first forum. On the end of the building report is always a photo of a finished model. For me I would say, don't do it. People will be sorted out so the two forums will attract less people Hessel
mistermodel Posted December 25, 2011 Posted December 25, 2011 Especially the one you tried to run some things never change I see no need to change this set up
cowboysevens Posted December 26, 2011 Posted December 26, 2011 some things never change lol you noticed that too
