Mr. Moparman Posted December 22, 2011 Posted December 22, 2011 How would one going about starting a model club?
Nitrozilla Posted December 23, 2011 Posted December 23, 2011 I'd start by going to this forum's Model Car Clubs forum and doing a "Any Interest" topic. Next I'd make up flyers and drop them off at every Hobby Shop, Michael's, and Hobby Lobby within a reasonable distance from where you plan your meetings. Also put a listing on CraigsList too. Don't forget to find a meeting place. Anything from your place to a pizza joint or even McDonalds. A local IPMS meets at a car dealership. That's the best place to start and see what happens. This is not what I've done, it's what I'd do.
crazyjim Posted December 23, 2011 Posted December 23, 2011 We tried an online club and not much happened and then announced that we're going to start a face to face club here. A flyer went up in our LHS and also announced at the local IPMS chapter. We picked a time/place and about a dozen people showed up and we all voted to start a club. That was August and we're up to 21 members already. Check out our NEW website http://fast.cybrarygoddess.com/
