1979jake Posted December 23, 2011 Posted December 23, 2011 Heyy, Just wondering, what the best trailer on the market at the moment, which is acurate or close to (with a few modifications) a modern day US van/reefer, being Australian I know very little about US trailers with all our length laws and ###### aha Any help would be much appreciated Jake
scale trucker Posted December 23, 2011 Posted December 23, 2011 (edited) jake italeri makes a nice reefer. here is a pic of mine if it will help Edited December 23, 2011 by scale trucker
Jim B Posted December 23, 2011 Posted December 23, 2011 If you don't need the trailer "right now", Moebius will be offering a 53ft Great Dane reefer trailer. I think it's scheduled for Spring 2012, give or take a little.
BigBad Posted December 23, 2011 Posted December 23, 2011 Italeri has a near right size trailer for 1:25 scale trucks. It's only correct in scale 1:24 for length and width, not for height. I'm working on one right now and had to modify the height by about a quarter inch to make it stand at 13'6". That was a lot of work and cutting... But for 1:25th scale it looks ok as it's shown in the picture shown higher up this topic.

scale trucker Posted December 24, 2011 Posted December 24, 2011 robert i had to cut and lenghten mine to make it look right
Jim B Posted December 24, 2011 Posted December 24, 2011 From what I've heard, they will be offering them as seperate kits. Maybe Dave Metzner can confirm this.

BigBad Posted January 6, 2012 Posted January 6, 2012 (edited) robert i had to cut and lenghten mine to make it look right This trailer is exactly 24 inches long. Which makes it 48 foot long for 1:24 scale and 50 foot for 1:25 scale. You lenghtened it too? You have more will power than I do! But the results are there, your rig looks great Gordon! I'm about to finish mine on the weekend, most details have been taken care of, I need to concentrate on the decals now. Jake, there you go, for a 1:25 scale trailer, the Italeri kit would do a reasonable job but don't expect too much from it, especially in the suspension department, it's not very good. It's a good place to practice your modeling skills... Edited January 6, 2012 by Z06Bob
scale trucker Posted January 7, 2012 Posted January 7, 2012 yes the suspension blows real bad..thats why i took the air ride from a beall tank trailer..
