And the 70 cornet, i really like that color really pops. got some nice work going on here and i have some pics of the Daytona. Ran into problems with my spot putty not totally hardening so.......Also decided to add some projector HID lights for the front will make some clear covers and have a few other driving light options also. And though it was said in the other movie by Brock Yates , Ohio does have a death penalty for speeding when caught with the last pic Michael

rv1963 Posted March 6, 2012 Posted March 6, 2012 (edited) I am in on this build i love the movie but here is my problem i have a choice of 4 kits i need some input from you guys, The mustang and the Fiero are both 1985 kits no problem there, the Ford exp was produced from 1982 to 1988 this one has a tubo making it a 1984 and the Coyote was in the tv show from 1983 to 86. The Mustang and the Fiero are both 1985 kits no problem there, the Ford EXP was produced from 1982 to 1988 (this one has a turbo making it a 1984) and the Coyote was in the TV show from 1983 to 1986. Let me know what you think... For what it's worth, Robert, here's the way I see it: The EXP would self-destruct before making it halfway across Pennsylvania (3,000+ miles at top speed in a first generation ESCORT??? C'mon, think about that for a second... ), and the Coyote is so cramped that you and your co-driver would be at each other's throats before crossing the Ohio River... if the little kit car made it that far. That leaves the Mustang SVO and the Fiero. Both are probably dependable enough to make the distance, and the SVO has the legs on the little Pontiac... unless you stuff the engine bay full of small block Chevy motivation! They won't see that coming, yet there are a couple of different conversion kits on the market to do just that. It's still kind of cramped inside, but at least there's a sizeable console between you and the other guy to give each of you your own private space. I'm more of a GM guy than I'm into Blue Ovals, so my vote goes to the Fiero. Still, a Mustang SVO is unusual enough to be worth considering, and it has more room for food and spare parts than a Fiero does.
rv1963 Posted March 6, 2012 Posted March 6, 2012 Thanks for your input Jim i agree on the escort not known to be a good car in the first generation and i read that the coyote was so cramped the stars had trouble getting in and out of it i am leaning to the Mustang svo because it has the best performance by far i read in one of the car mags that the svo turned in better times in the quater mile than a v8 gt that year, i still have plenty of time to make a decision.
W-409 Posted March 6, 2012 Posted March 6, 2012 Finally found one Tunnel Ram manifold, and I can cast one from resin. Then I can continue building the engine for my Camaro project, and body needs to be sanded and primered too. I've been having lots of other stuff in my life too, like school and 1:1 scale projects. I'm building two models with tight deadline too, so I'm bit hurry with them. I will post more information of them later.
rv1963 Posted March 11, 2012 Posted March 11, 2012 Since i got very little input on which kit to use i am going with the Mustang SVO below are 2 pics of the engine work i started lots more to do like some custom intake plumbing for the turbo and a vintage style cold air intake and some steel braded lines, all comments welcome.

The only things I've done for this are the engine wich is 426 Wedge and Scoop wich is from Lindberg's Dodge 330. The engine may change to 440 magnum but I'm not sure yet. Maybe i will do some kind of spoiler top of the trunk. I glued some kind of spoiler (which is from my parts box) to top of the trunk and now the side line looks much better. I also found rims and tires to this project. Rims are casted by Marko Piironen and those tires are from my parts box. The engine will be 440 Magnum (which i have to thank "W-409").

I will sand it smooth tomorrow. I also decided to change Tunnel Ram intake manifold to Cross Ram. And Matti's Rambler looks very good so far.

W-409 Posted April 8, 2012 Posted April 8, 2012 Rambler looks great so far. What's that paint, you used? I mean the manufacturer and the color code. It looks just boring enough for a Sleeper. That Cross Ram Intake is installed, I guess it's from Monogram '57 Chevy. Carburetors are from that kit too, and so is the air cleaner, but it's still in progress... Paint scheme of it will be shown later. Valve covers are from this Camaro kit. Chassis is painted flat black too.

Next weekend i will go to paint that hood again so then i can look at the color code. Your Camaro looks also very good and i really like that cross ram intake.
ChevyCoupe41 Posted April 10, 2012 Posted April 10, 2012 Now the engine of Rambler is finished. If i put any more details to engine i put them when the engine is glued to chassis and cahssis is glued to the body. The air cleaner will be removable so that those detail of the carburettor show.
