W-409 Posted December 24, 2011 Posted December 24, 2011 (edited) Started as glue bomb and first I built wide rear fenders from styrene slip and bondo. L88 scoop was molded to the hood, after I shortened it. Engine is from my parts box, and it has some details added. Front axle from '57 Nomad and I had to saw it in 9 pieces before it could be fitted on Corvette's frame. Rear axle was bought from Finnish Model Car Forum, and I painted chassis white, blue and red. Many interior parts from '67 Corvette (Revell), and windshield, grille and taillights etc. are from that kit too. I built rear window from acetate. Painted with Motip spray and Maston clear. crazyjim Posted December 24, 2011 Posted December 24, 2011 I like the SHINY :) Niko and some of the details you put into this build. Looks like it sits too high though. Merry Christmas, Niko.
Erik Smith Posted December 24, 2011 Posted December 24, 2011 Far out man! I have been looking in on the WIP for this car and it turned out great. Nice engine and paint.
W-409 Posted December 25, 2011 Author Posted December 25, 2011 (edited) Thanks, Jim and Erik! That ride height is bit high in the front. I lowered it as much as possible with using Nomad front axle system. But it still looks hight though. Rear end is just perfect for my taste. And Erik: Nice to hear you've been watching the WIP. For better result I should have taken it apart again, and fix some fit issues before assembling, but I had to time before that Model contest, where I was building this. It looks OK anyway, so I'm pretty happy about it. Thanks again, and Merry Christmas! Edited December 25, 2011 by W-409
W-409 Posted January 1, 2012 Author Posted January 1, 2012 Thanks, Shane! I'm pretty happy about it too, especially, because this was my largest project so far, I have some larger on the bench, but they are not finished yet.
