I am starting this to keep me busy while i'm waiting on parts for my '69 Charger R/T. My paint will be Model Master Plum Crazy with an off-white interior. This will be my first model sprayed with my airbrush.

I started the 383 engine.

Are you going to decant that paint for your airbrush? Dont those cans spray pretty good when they are warmed up? My self I like the easy clean up of a rattle can, but you can get a really nice finish with an airbrush. Does that kit come with any white stripes to go with the white inside. That would look killer on that purple.

Good uck with the airbursh Brandon. I have been using one for many years. The only thing I use rattle cans for now are primers and small pieces like rear view mirrors and such. Airbrushes require patience and practice. With these two things your finishes will greatly improve.

OK, I got the engine painted with Model Master Chrysler Engine Blue thinned 50/50 thru the airbrush. I replaced to kit dizzy with one from my parts box and made the shaft from brass tubing. The wire is 30 gauge wrapping wire from Radio Shack.

Why did you paint the engine blue? , i thought the High Perf 383's were orange?

Not until 1969. A '68 383 would be turquoise.

edited for spelling.
