Repstock Posted December 30, 2011 Posted December 30, 2011 I notice many builds omit this detail. I think it's worth adding, perhaps you will, too.
Guest Johnny Posted December 30, 2011 Posted December 30, 2011 it would be a very cool detail to add, yes! the question is, how to do it? Even if someone would make decals to represent the vents!
Ben Posted December 30, 2011 Posted December 30, 2011 That's why I made sure to buy three sets of these when Harald Weber of Germany had them made. They are a full set of photo etch with pins for dash knobs, templates to postition emblems and even clear "glass and gaskets for the wing windows.
Ben Posted December 30, 2011 Posted December 30, 2011 Harald did an outstanding photo etch set for the White Freightliner cabover kits as well! Really awesome stuff! He may still have these sets for sale. I can email him and ask if anyone is interested in them.

I never knew the photoetch set existed!
Guest Johnny Posted December 31, 2011 Posted December 31, 2011 The only problem I see with that, is that the horizontal bars on the vent are always the color of the cab, so It would be hard unless you could order them in a specific color. They would have to be printed on clear!
Chuck Most Posted December 31, 2011 Posted December 31, 2011 That photoetch set would be VERY nice to have! Just for those of you who'd like to try your own, a couple close-up shots of the 1:1. The red one is an '85 I saw at a junkyard, the blue one is my '59 junker. The grille was the same from '57 to '90.
