well here is what's on the bench right now, wanted to try to do more scratch building, so its been a slow process, learning as I go, doing my red neck machine work with out any experience on a lathe, just using common sense as I go along, but it has been a blast playin on the lathe trying to make things, all of the parts you see are my first ever attempt's at doing each part, just using the kit parts as a reference, I dont have a mill yet, red neck rigged my lathe to do the milling, still have alot of work to do, in the process of trying to make the front axle out of brass tubing and the spindles out of brass also, again learning as I go, turned the hubs and rims on the lathe and used nickle plated wire for the front wheels, rear wheels are 2 piece, valve covers and breathers started out as hunks of aluminum with stainless bolts( took forever!!)

Bill... That's truly amazing scratchbuilding, and detailing. Hope you can get engine running soon, looks like it is almost there... What scale it actually is? Can't believe that it's 1/25 scale, looks like bigger. And how is it possible to make those parts to 1/25 scale? Great job with it.

We had one California Charger here in Finland years ago. It was Firebird FC, and actually it's still here and runs on Super Comp today, but with different paint scheme and of course it's not burning methanol anymore.

thanks Niko, actually amazed myself on how its turned out, allways wanted to make some wheels and especially valve covers, finally got to try it, it is very time consuming when you dont really know what you are doing, lol one little mistake and you have to start all over!! none of them are perfect, it is 1/16 scale the gasser wheels are 1/25 scale

Very impressive build so far. I'm in the front row with my popcorn, taking notes. What machining tools are you using, or is that a secret?

Bill...Very nice work you have going on this build. it is looking great. Man what I would give to have a mini Lathe and mini mill. I am really wanting to get to doing some of my engine details on my 1/16th scale funny car. I have to agree with Brad here, what are you using to machine your parts? Keep up the great work and I will be following along on this build.

thanks for the complement Mooneyzs, I found the lathe on craigslist for $300 brand new in box, got lucky, it was even with in 40 min of my house! have to save up and get a mill, make things easier, I have to stand on my head to do mill work on the lathe! lol
