Dom87SS
this is my first attempt at trying to build a Outlaw 10.5/Outlaw Drag Radial type car. its to be based on a new ZR1 vette, and im not certain exactly all what i want to do as far as engine and detail etc. i was on the fence about doing this because well diving into a project like this can be a bit much. So enough chatter here are a few pics of what i started this weekend. right out of the box and the cutting got under way' Edited January 3, 2012 by Dom87SS

Prostreet
Nice start Dom, i seen your impala, can't wait to see where you go with this.
Dom87SS
yeah the impala is why im doing this. i took it out and couldnt figure out what to do next. a lot needs to be done on it but i am at a stand still on it. So a new project has begun. This is now my 3rd cage im doing, and im learning a little more each time i make new pieces.
outlaw105
Looks good Dom... Have you decided on a power adder yet? EDIT: I just read your first post Edited January 3, 2012 by outlaw105
Dom87SS
Right now I'm thinking a 737 BBC with twin 88s. Not certain though but I have a new Ross Gibson engine that would fit the bill. Time will tell I guess.
W-409
This is great project, I'll be watching it for sure. I've been wanting to build Corvette Drag Car too-and I mean this kind of Corvette. Great job on the cage so far, keep it coming.
pharr7226
The chassis is looking great.
Dom87SS
just made the turbos today, its going to have twin 91mm's and most likely will feed the 737 BBC which will be injected. So i need to design a new intake manifold and get that made next.
Dom87SS
here is the 91mm turbo, i made it with 4 different clock positions because i didnt know exactly where i want to put them or how i want to mount them yet.
jeff ewaskey
I am seriously diggin your Vette build and those turbos look absolutely killer. Great job so far so keep it rolling. I will be watching this.

tyrone
Those are some of the BEST turbos I've ever seen.... Edited January 6, 2012 by tyrone
Dom87SS
they arent totally accurate (too many blades, space between compressor and exhaust housing, exhaust housing size) but for me they are good enough and im not redesigning them because they took a while to get them where they are. either way they should look sweet once all done up. Dom87SS
so i started putting the motor together tonight. had an extra intake layin around so i put it on just to see, and low n behold it fit under the stock hood. granted the intake is for a standard deck BBC, but was still cool to see it under there. im going to have to lengthen it front to back, add some length to the runners so i can add a second set of injectors, and make the runners bigger. so it most likely wont fit under the hood, but itll be close and wont need a lot of modifying which was the hope. custompainter
Which kit did you start with? I would like to do one myself. Great job!
Dom87SS
I believe it's a revell kit, it was released last year as the ZR1
futurattraction
That's looking really great so far! Your tube work looks good too... Keep up the great progress.
Dom87SS
not much progress at all here. i designed the intake manifold ths weekend and made it today. its a bit larger than the standard deck intake i made a while back. Its a bit longer, has larger runners and port spread, 2 ses of injectors/rails, and no built in valley tray.
outlaw105
Those look great... They look like the 1:1 billet intakes from Berry
