01blueedge Posted January 4, 2012 Posted January 4, 2012 Like i need another project but after messing up the paint on 2 models (ranchero and Blazer) I decided to make something that doesn't need a good paint job. So here is what I am working on it is a 55 f100 all I had was the cab so I cut the front fenders off and started brush painting it so I can do some weathering. I am also scratch building a frame. Its going to have a blown 427 motor in it and a ford 9 in rear. this is also going to be my first rat rod type build. so far I have started painting the cab and started working on the frame here is the progress so far.
Tony-442 Posted January 6, 2012 Posted January 6, 2012 I love Rat Rods.... Keep us posted with your progress... Looks like a good start.
01blueedge Posted January 8, 2012 Author Posted January 8, 2012 got the cab painted or i guess rusted and also worked on the frame I added nascar suspension to the front. I have a couple more cross members to put in and it will be finished
Dr. Cranky Posted January 9, 2012 Posted January 9, 2012 The weathering is looking good. Nice chipping!

01blueedge Posted January 13, 2012 Author Posted January 13, 2012 I am wanting some input on this I had to scratch build the firewall. I was wondering if you think it would look good as aluminum checker plate and make it chrome like something added afterwards or just paint it and weather it. here is a pic of the motor sitting in the frame and the firewall on the truck. thanks
Dr. Cranky Posted January 13, 2012 Posted January 13, 2012 Perfect beefed up engine for this ride. Nice.
01blueedge Posted June 19, 2012 Author Posted June 19, 2012 i got a little bit done to this i got the frame finished the firewall made and started on the interior heres the pics
rmvw guy Posted June 19, 2012 Posted June 19, 2012 Nice so far, I like the Rust and the Road Signs, the engine looks healthy and I love what you've done to the frame. Please keep it going!
Dr. Cranky Posted June 19, 2012 Posted June 19, 2012 You are making progress, keep it going. Everything about it so far tells me you are having a great deal of fun building this one.

I've seen it done for floorboards but not firewalls. Just a thought. bobthehobbyguy

01blueedge Posted July 10, 2012 Author Posted July 10, 2012 I got a little more done to this I got the motor in the rear suspension in and made my seat. I just used some old fabric and painted in brown to make it look like it had an old blanket laid across it. here are the pics of the final ride height and the seat
01blueedge Posted July 13, 2012 Author Posted July 13, 2012 I got a little more done to this one I got the front grille put one a started working on the interior. I have to finish the interior and make a wood bed and this one will be finished
01blueedge Posted July 13, 2012 Author Posted July 13, 2012 I got the seats finished I couldn't use the seat that i orginally made for it but I found these and thought they might would look good in it. I also finished up the wood bed.
