My first painted model and first model since my early teens!-85 mustang

Well she isn't too pretty.. I see a ton of little things I would like to fix or detail.. but this is IT .. It's done and I'm happy enough with it... I was always too afraid and nit picky about flaws when trying to build and always gave up.. but I knew I'd never get any better or accomplish anything without just building.. so this was a build I decided to finish no matter how it looked..

I used to build the pre-painted kits when I was an early teen (maybe even younger) and I've never painted a model myself.. so don't rag on me too bad about the sloppy lines and screw ups.. I was lowering it a bit and noticed the rear sat a little lower but I like it that way and no side view mirrors because I ruined the body enough trying to glue the dang bumper on LOL

haha thanks! and actually the body was rattle canned.. to be honest I think I could have done a better job air brushing it.. I'm really starting to get the hang of the brush but then it seems to glog on me at the wrong time (I can't wait to get back to work and buy some decent paints)

I don't see any big, goopy runs, so I'd say nice job on a first paint job. I'm still practicing after my first spray job 51 years ago. Good to see you posting and you are going to be amazed at your next build! .. keep on trucking ..

If i think about my first model, than i would "shame me in the ground" - no paint, only plastic and glue So, you have done a good job Bobby!

Looks solid and clean. What brand of paint did you use? While by no means a shortcut to great paint jobs, there are some products that produce better finishes easier than others. You will still need patience and the basics, but you won't be handicapping yourself. Try Tamiya or Duplicolor paints on top of a good primer. Don't bother with Model Master enamels in the spray cans.

Keep building, though, and read through a lot of threads here and you'll continue to learn and improve.
