mopar01lee Posted January 5, 2012 Posted January 5, 2012 (edited) Ok i, like a lot of you. like a good set of steel rims .. even better a good set of big an little steelies . me for the most part its about the mopar look ... So this was my attempt to fix my prob. i started with a set of steels from the 68 charger kit . an we all kw that them rims are small they fit very few tires,an there thin... first a look before the mods.. heres my fix.. took a small strip of styrene an added it to the out side of the rim ... then made it a lill deeper.. did the same to the front rim , just not as deep.. and now a look at the master .. i also made a mold an have casted a few .. if this is wrong for this section sry .. please move later days ..Davin Edited January 5, 2012 by mopar01lee
mopar01lee Posted January 5, 2012 Author Posted January 5, 2012 hers the final step ... front an rears.. sry no shot of the fronts in a tire . forgot to take one ...

2000-cvpi Posted January 5, 2012 Posted January 5, 2012 That looks good. I have three mopars that could use those rims. Are you interested in a trade for a few set's?

shucky Posted January 5, 2012 Posted January 5, 2012 Davin, nice job on the wheels! The cast copies look nice too. Great job!
FASTBACK340 Posted January 5, 2012 Posted January 5, 2012 (edited) <p> i still gotta do the dog dish... Speaking of which.... What Dog Dish's are you planning on doing?Me needs BADLY a set of `68 Plymouth Dog Dishes. Got `em or know of a source?Although I have Centerlines on her now, I'm probably going back to steelies & caps. I need a set to build the replica of my car.Sorry for the detour off-topic. BTW: I like your solution for modifying the wheels. I'll take that with me. Thanks! Edited January 5, 2012 by FASTBACK340
Keef Posted January 6, 2012 Posted January 6, 2012 not bad looking, i made a set in 1/24 scale for a good friend to use on his A12 69 Bee build up
mopar01lee Posted January 6, 2012 Author Posted January 6, 2012 fastback340 i will be doin the set from the 68 charger and a old style off a fury ... i need to get the set from the 70 roadrunner from r/m...
Rob Hall Posted January 6, 2012 Posted January 6, 2012 Nice...steelies and DDs just look so right on many Mopies, IMO...
Casey Posted January 6, 2012 Posted January 6, 2012 (edited) I still prefer the 1/24 scale 15" steel wheels from the Revell '64 Ford T-bolt kits when building an A12 car. They drop right into the Monoogram 15" Goodyear Steel Belted Radial tires, too: And a (slightly) better image of these wheel in bare white resin: Edited January 6, 2012 by Casey
