V-LOW Posted January 7, 2012 Posted January 7, 2012 (edited) This is my latest project. It's a AMT 1950 Ford Convertible kit. I want to convert it in to a hard top 2 door sedan and try to make it original or mild custom. Here are some pics of the roof: Edited January 25, 2012 by V-LOW
Dr. Cranky Posted January 7, 2012 Posted January 7, 2012 Looking good. Where are you getting the roof from?
Dr. Cranky Posted January 7, 2012 Posted January 7, 2012 Wow, sanded smooth. I get it, it would have never dawned on me to do that. No wonder it's a perfect fit. Very cool.
espo Posted January 7, 2012 Posted January 7, 2012 At one time this kit had a hardtop in stock and chopped top. Looks nice, I looking to see how this turns out.
jaymcminn Posted January 7, 2012 Posted January 7, 2012 I like the idea of doing a Tudor sedan- you never see that body style in scale.
V-LOW Posted January 11, 2012 Author Posted January 11, 2012 The roof is finished and the silver base coat is already applied. The color for this model is going to be a dark metallic blue (Tamiya TS-51). This is almost the same as the factory color Sheridan Blue. Here are some pictures of the roof:
V-LOW Posted January 13, 2012 Author Posted January 13, 2012 (edited) In this update you see the first color layer (clear coat is coming soon). The interior and engine are finished. I've messed up the front seat a bit, but I've fixed it with some scale brochures of Ford. Here are some pictures: Edited January 13, 2012 by V-LOW

rmvw guy Posted January 27, 2012 Posted January 27, 2012 People will think this is an out of the box stock build if they don't see the process. Nice work and nice pictures!
