larman Posted May 25, 2007 Posted May 25, 2007 Some shots of my scale junkyard. All the models were built from previously built gluebombs or parts cars I had lying around. The "yard" was built from a piece of 1/4 inch plywood, and I used railroad turf and ballast for ground. AMT 57 Chevy, This was a started built up with terrible paint, so I made it into a junk gasser. This was the shell of an old AMT monster truck. Pieced together with stuff from the parts box. I bought this 69 Dart as an unpainted built up at a local fleamarket for .50 cents, it was missing the back bumper, but the 383 was in it and not screwed up, so I kept that. I put a junk 318 from a van in it. I made the tarp to cover up the missing parts on the back end. Another parts box queen, Monogram 70 GTX, this one was painted to represent faded super blue paint, I added a vynl top with masking tape, and opended the door area, and hinged the door to hang open. Revell '63 Chevy, This was missing the trunk lid and engine when I got it, I added a 283 engine from an AMT '57 Chevy, and filled the trunk area with various junk. Another shot of the GTX, you can see the hood hinges in this one, I think they came from an AMT superbee, but I don't remember for sure.
BIGTRUCK Posted May 28, 2007 Posted May 28, 2007 Thats great...the '63 chevy looks pretty real to me...
Rich Posted August 23, 2007 Posted August 23, 2007 Wow, that is some really nice work and i like the junkyard theme also.
