57peppershaker Posted January 7, 2012 Posted January 7, 2012 One of my planned builds this year (gotta finish last years yet) is A revell 08 Bullit Mustang. I'm planning a modded Bullit, big brakes (colour coded calipers), supercharger, roll bar (colour coded) ect ect. How much does the Bullit kit share with the 07 GT 500 ? Are the Shelby brakes bigger than the Bullit ? Any other differences apart from the engine, which I plan to use in the Bullit ? I dont have the GT500 kit yet, so wondering if its worth buying or to go with resin parts ect ?
martinfan5 Posted January 7, 2012 Posted January 7, 2012 The only difference from the bullitt kit and the GT500 kits is the body, wheels, and engine, I want to say that the GT500 has a set of front brakes that are a little bit different then the bulitt kit .
Rick Schmidt Posted January 7, 2012 Posted January 7, 2012 Yes the GT500 has different front brakes in it Also has different seats
martinfan5 Posted January 8, 2012 Posted January 8, 2012 Yes the GT500 has different front brakes in it Also has different seats Rick, I forgot about the seats, after four different stangs I built they all look same now
whale392 Posted January 8, 2012 Posted January 8, 2012 Steve, The 06GT, 07GT500, 08 Bullitt, 08 GT500KR, and the Hertz Mustang are all based on the same kit and most (if not all) of the parts will swap back and forth kit-wise. The front brakes on the GT500 and GT500KR are of the larger variety, rear brakes are the same. The later issue GT500 got the open-air air filter (like the GT500KR) and the supercharger. Yes, the supercharged 5.4L engine will sit right down into any of the engine bays, and to add so will the 2010GT and GT500 powertrains.
57peppershaker Posted January 8, 2012 Author Posted January 8, 2012 Thanks for the info Gents, I'll grab a GT500.
57peppershaker Posted January 9, 2012 Author Posted January 9, 2012 Just to add a curve ball, what about building a 2008 Cobra Super Jet ? Bullit body with Shelby running gear ? Any idea who makes the wheels ect ?
