Mopar rebuilds

Hey all,

With my other projects wrapping up, I picked up a couple of Mopar gluebombs to start the restoration process

This is what I'm starting with,

Monogram 1970 Cuda (?)

And a Revellogram '70 ragtop(?)

And this one I'm not sure about..It's a Cuda, but not sure what year or who made it. Its molded in white and it is a mess. Mopar guys, I could use some help identifying this one..

Can the Johan drag car be made factory stock?

While we are on the subject..can anyone tell me what Mopar interior this belongs to?

Also, the ragtop is missing part of the hood scoop, I could use one if anyone has a spare.

Yeah, I was guessing MPC also, but what car? Cuda, Challenger, GTX? It fits into that Cuda body pretty well......

Of course you can make that Jo-Han Cuda factory stock, but you have to change the chassis and hood. Of course some smaller parts too, but those are problem. I would like to build that Cuda as Pro Stocker. Oh- I'm building one Pro Stocker from that kit already!

Challenger, based on what I see of the door panels....but that appears to be a convertible-based interior tub, which might make it the AMT drop-top kit?

When I looked at the Johan Cuda chassis, I realized that it ain't stock .

Now I just have to find all the stock Cuda parts to rebuild it..

Could be, but did AMT make a Challenger ragtop? How can you tell its a ragtop interior?

Revellogram made one, but in 24th scale

The "boxes" on both sides of the rear seat are where the convertible top mechanism folds up and stores on a real car, so that's a sign it's for a convertible. AMT's 1/25 scale '70 "Yankee Challenge" kit is really a convertible with a hardtop which can be added on, the back seat is molded as one with the interior tub, and based on this pic of that kit, it appears to be the same:

The interior bucket is from the AMT Challenger- not the greatest although the chassis and fenderwells are pretty good

The MPC (AMT) snap 'cuda is usually easy to find and inexpensive - just has a different seat pattern and steering wheel than correct for '71

Another option is to cut the back seat out of the extra Challenger tub (you can even use the console

The JoHan body is nice but doesn't have the fender "gills" of the 'cuda model- builds a nice base Barracuda or Gran Coupe or is a great donor for a '70 conversion

The MPC flat hood works great for a base model - the Revell 1/24 "power bulge" hood can be filed down to fit- the original MPC had a shaker

I'm checking eBay for donar parts, but there isn't much for Cudas

Look in the promo section of eBay for the yellow or red '72(?) AMT promo.

That's just a pic I found on the SAE forum, Ian.

If you decide to pick up the 1/24 scale Monogram (now Revell) '70 Challenger T/A kit, be sure to get one which is molded in color or pre-'95 or so, as the recent molded-in-white reissues of the 1/24 T/A have the incorrect interior tub and seats from the '70 AAR 'Cuda kit.
