Lownslow Posted January 9, 2012 Posted January 9, 2012 my friend kept bugging about these so when he finally fronted the cost of the molding rubber i gladly decided to cast them for him. theyre only blue for picture purposes the regular sets are tan, mold for the tires are drying as i type the tires wil be in hard resin they fit so well theyre no point in making soft compound ones
mikemodeler Posted January 9, 2012 Posted January 9, 2012 Nice clean castings there Frank. Let us know how the tires came out, I know you had some questions on casting tires and I am anxious to see what method worked for you.
Casey Posted January 9, 2012 Posted January 9, 2012 Did you account for the small amount of shrinkage which usually occurs when you cast them in solid resin? That's be a bummer if the I.D. of the tires was too small to fit the wheels. Is this common for this type of wheel to be eight-lug and have that large of a bolt pattern?
