h3ae86 Posted January 13, 2012 Posted January 13, 2012 just got this kit, and I was really excited about it. Then I saw the wheels and tires. I was expecting to get what was on the box art but I was disappointed. the tires are 2 piece and the rims aren't deep enough for me. I was wondering if anyone knows where I could get a better set of rims and tires for this kit this is basically what I'm goning for in terms of wheel and tire set up.
fumi Posted January 14, 2012 Posted January 14, 2012 How about these Fujimi 17" Sparco N1? I think 17" is about the biggest size for cars of that vintage, anything bigger would have fitment issues. http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10101168
Rob McKee Posted January 14, 2012 Posted January 14, 2012 Man that is disappointing. Why would they package those crappy tires?
martinfan5 Posted January 14, 2012 Posted January 14, 2012 Man that is disappointing. Why would they package those crappy tires? Because its a RofG kit, they are known for doing stuff like that
Darin Bastedo Posted January 14, 2012 Posted January 14, 2012 Man that is disappointing. Why would they package those crappy tires? Because this is a re-issue of a 70's vintage kit. That is how the old revell kits were
Rob McKee Posted January 14, 2012 Posted January 14, 2012 That is to bad. I don't think I have ever bought a car kit from RoG. I find most of the American cars boxed by RoG become available as Revell US. So I just wait and save money.
LAone Posted January 14, 2012 Posted January 14, 2012 hey bud, if you want some 17" work miester S1 wheels like on that RWB porsche, hobby design has them. but if you want the rears to be that wide, you'll have to mod them yourself. as for the tires, they also make tires. or you can use slicks from a tamiya kit. best of luck.
