Merkur XR4Ti Posted May 29, 2007 Posted May 29, 2007 Fought this one through most of the build, but I'm happy with the final result. Paint is a Honda touchup lacquer to resemble Ferrari Grigio Alloy. Crazy Modeler metal emblems as well. The rest is box stock. I threw some personal touches in there, like the red brake calipers and a custom mixed color for the interior floor.
ismaelg Posted May 29, 2007 Posted May 29, 2007 Cool 612! Nice color choice. Good job! I know how they can fight you as I have done 2 of those
Bowtienutz Posted May 29, 2007 Posted May 29, 2007 I gotta tell ya Izzy built one for me I've been enjoying taking it to shows on the east coast. My building time is virtually null It's great to have a good looking car to the shows even if I din't build it myself. Now I got a question has anybody ever built one of these red
crispy Posted May 30, 2007 Posted May 30, 2007 Nice looking Scag! Is that the Revell of Germany kit or the Revell USA kit? I built mine in Nero Daytona Black: bowtie--I think I have seen one in red, but unsure of the builder.
Merkur XR4Ti Posted May 30, 2007 Author Posted May 30, 2007 It's the Revell USA kit, molded in white. I cut the windows and only installed the rear windows and the bit that holds the mirrors because the whole window wouldn't fit right otherwise. Now it merely looks like the windows are rolled down. I've made a personal vow, that if I build more Ferrari kits, never to paint them in red. 8) I just pikced up a Superamerica kit, and I'm pondering what color to paint it. I think a rich royal blue might be in order.
RDean58 Posted May 30, 2007 Posted May 30, 2007 I've got one in process of being built (been that way for a year ) A lot of my Ferraris are red, although I do have some in other colors Blue Black Silver And another Blue One.
Jeff Johnston Posted May 31, 2007 Posted May 31, 2007 I did a Dino in almost the exact same color. I love a Red Ferrari, but it's nice to see a different color too. Very nice work on that kit. Very nice indeed !
