Modellpularn Posted May 30, 2007 Posted May 30, 2007 This one started out as a JO-HAN "promo kit" or whatever they were called. Anyway, it bothered me that the front fender "planes" had mold seams all over, so they had to go. Next up was the side trim. Painted Boyd's Grape Pearl, I'd like to have some flames or graphics to liven up the car, or?? Got paint masks from RPP Hobby via Darryl Gassaway. Bumpers have been painted a steel Metalizer, but maybe I should try Alclad instead? Or rechrome em'? What do you think...?
SkootzRodShop Posted June 12, 2007 Posted June 12, 2007 olds? that looks like a fairlaine 500 car with shaved handles, and trim to me. just my 2 cents worth
Jairus Posted June 12, 2007 Posted June 12, 2007 YOUR KIDDING!?!!? That looks like a def. GM product to me..... resin?
SkootzRodShop Posted June 12, 2007 Posted June 12, 2007 no im serious, reason being i just bought a fairlaine 500 model the other day and it looks alot like that body line wise, ill try to get a pic of it today and post when i get off work. maybe its the dark color thats throwin me off though too.
MrObsessive Posted June 12, 2007 Posted June 12, 2007 Lookin' good so far man! As far as the body shape...........that's definitely late '50's GM! GM and Ford may have had the same beltline "dip" back then.........but they had very distinctive body shapes and rooflines!
James Flowers Posted June 13, 2007 Posted June 13, 2007 Looks like you left it as a four door to me. Nice .anyway
Modellpularn Posted June 16, 2007 Author Posted June 16, 2007 Thanks for your comments, guys! Trust me, it IS a '57 Olds, in styrene! Harry, I really like your photoshop tricks! In fact, I was thinking along the same lines you rendered. Maybe even do the flames in metalizer. Problem is, I don't have any of it left...se if I can find some, or just go with some new stuff. I also haven't painted the headlight bezels... will try to get some pics of it with bumpers.
