I think you are doing some great work here and I love the whole idea. However the carbon fiber doors just totally jumped the shark for me. It interupts the whole flow of the vehicle.

While not a fan of drifting either, I am a fan of interesting builds. Great idea! The RHD conversion is a nice touch too. But I have a suggestion: your L/F tire is the only one with the tread in the proper direction. Those tires are directional, meaning they mount in a certain direction, like your L/F is mounted. And even at that, those would be tough tires to break loose. Might want to Google what the drifters run. I could be wrong about the choice you used tho`.... Just my unsolicited .02

Still a neat idea! And I like the color too.

Thanks, yeah since it is still in progress, I wait till the end to double check tire rotation patterns. They slip off and on real easy so I am not worried at this point.

I agree. A darker color, like Dark Gunmetal, and the door would flow better.

Anyway, VERY nice idea and well executed!

Well it is suppose to be a bright color. Alot of professional drift cars are colorful for attention. The carbon fiber doors are just another nod to the import scene. This is just a hot rod only skin deep. It's heart and soul is all japanese.

Well I finally finished the motor and permanatly mated it to the chassis. The only part left for this is mounting the radiator and hooking up the hoses and the MSD box, coil and main coil wire.

I want to thank Jimmy (Crewdawg15) for building such a great resin motor. It will really be a pleasure to build more of them in the future man.

On a second, slightly crappier note. I started the clearing process last night. Well in my haste to get goo build up to polish with I added a second very think coat alot sooner than I should. This caused the large yellow and green tribal to craze slightly under the clear. I tried to wetsand down some to help level it out. Well even just a light touch went through the peaks some and now both sides have a slight weathered cracked sidewalk look to the graphic.

The way I see it I have three options. 1. I can say screw it, and leave it like it is and try to polish it out, but I know it wouldn't be my best work. 2. Strip the whole body and start all over. The least appealing option and I don't have duplicates of many of the sponsor decals or the rear decal. 3. I have some spare side graphics. The messed up part is after the sponsor decals and I try to put them on top of the old ones and see if it works. Then re-clear over the sides again.

You could just leave it. A slightly weathered look tot he graphic might give it a bit more hot rod feel, maybe, kinda sorta?

Well it is real real close to being finished. The interior is done and in. The body is now mated to the frame. The rear wind is on, as well as the windshield, tailights, rear diffuser, grille and grille support. Not much left but license plate, door handles, headlights, front wing and radiator hoses.

I will post some updated pics tonight.

Well I got my display girl figure done last night. All I have to do now is do the radiator hoses, steering link to firewall and the front wing.

That IS different and very cool . . . it shows how much fun you've had building it. Beautiful. Love it.

Thanks Doc. Soon I will be able to start on my TZH Vette and Toyota. :D
