Ira Posted September 1, 2012 Author Posted September 1, 2012 WE ARE GOIN' 4 WHEELIN' GUYS!!! I'm putting 4WD on the CordVette! Front View...
sjordan2 Posted September 1, 2012 Posted September 1, 2012 I would also call it Testerrific. I may have missed something in volumes I and II of this killer build, but does it have doors? Or are the panel lines just hard to see?

LOL looking great buddy, keep it goin cheers bryan Thanks! I'll be using the Split Windshield from the 1937 Cord on the CordVette...
Alyn Posted September 1, 2012 Posted September 1, 2012 Nice progress, Ira, and good idea going with the all-wheel drive. At first glance I was thinking the pumpkin should be offset so the drive shaft can clear the engine. Duh, then I remembered there's no engine in the way.
Platerpants Posted September 1, 2012 Posted September 1, 2012 WE ARE GOIN' 4 WHEELIN' GUYS!!! I'm putting 4WD on the CordVette! Front View... you competing with veyrons? all wheel/4 wheel drive is a nice touch but how would it handle northeast ohio in the winter?
Ira Posted September 1, 2012 Author Posted September 1, 2012 Those wheels look like they were made for it! Thanks Mike! These turned out just right for the CordVette...
Ira Posted September 1, 2012 Author Posted September 1, 2012 A FEW DETAILS... I used parts of the Ferrari Suspension up front. I cut the ends off and carved them to fit over the axle. The Rear End and Drive Shaft are from the 57 Chevy. Here are all of the 4WD parts in place... Need a little touch up later...
sjordan2 Posted September 1, 2012 Posted September 1, 2012 (edited) This is such a unique car, with such swoopy lines, I think it needs simpler wheels like from a Bugatti T50 or something very round and flat, very dish-like. Maybe even full moons. Even though there's the Corvettte split-window reference and Ferrari elements, I think the look should stand on its own. Actually, I'd go with something that looks like the Cord wheels and hubcaps. Edited September 1, 2012 by sjordan2
Ira Posted September 1, 2012 Author Posted September 1, 2012 400 HP UNDER GLASS!!! I made a Lexan Window to separate the Interior/Engine Compartment. The Roof Console is from the Ferrari. Here they are in place... After Painting it Flat Black, I attached the Firewall to the brackets... So here is what the CordVette looks like on the bench today... Working on the Interior next time...
Ira Posted September 1, 2012 Author Posted September 1, 2012 Ira......looking SHARP!!!!!! Thank you my Friend!
Ira Posted September 1, 2012 Author Posted September 1, 2012 I would also call it Testerrific. I may have missed something in volumes I and II of this killer build, but does it have doors? Or are the panel lines just hard to see? Thanks Skip! The Plan is to Draw on the lines using a Permanent Marker and Templates...

Ira Posted September 2, 2012 Author Posted September 2, 2012 you competing with veyrons? all wheel/4 wheel drive is a nice touch but how would it handle northeast ohio in the winter? I don't know, I think we would probably stay in Sunny California for the Winter...

Ira Posted September 2, 2012 Author Posted September 2, 2012 THE SEATS!!! The Seats from the Cord, Corvette and the Ferrari didn't work for the CordVette. Fortunately I found these in the Camaro kit! I painted them with the same Revvin Red Color as the body. Then I sprayed them with Dullcoat. Next I used the Detailer Wash to bring out the detail & texture in the inner section of the Seats. Then I wiped the Seats with a damp paper towel to remove the excess Detailer Wash. After it dried I applied another coat of Dullcote... I used a tooth pick to paint the chrome buttons on the Seats... Done...
sjordan2 Posted September 2, 2012 Posted September 2, 2012 Wow. More modelers should pay that kind of attention to seats and interiors overall.
