Bartster Posted February 9, 2012 Posted February 9, 2012 This just keeps getting better. Makes me think of good red wine!
Foxer Posted February 9, 2012 Posted February 9, 2012 I really like that back end now that I see the fenders on. Are you going to extent the inside of the fenders forward to close them off?
Ira Posted February 9, 2012 Author Posted February 9, 2012 This just keeps getting better. Makes me think of good red wine! Thanks Bart!!! The red color won't be around much longer, I ran out of Gray & tried the Red. The red is pretty messy, red dust everywhere. (Got in trouble for that one.) Bought a can of Duplicolor Gray Filler/Primer, the Gray dust blends in to everything much better, no problems! Next time you see it, the Cordvette wiil be in Gray Primer...
Wagoneer81 Posted February 9, 2012 Posted February 9, 2012 (edited) Ira, I am really, REALLY impressed! When I saw the thread title, I wondered how this would be pulled off... I'm amazed at how well you've blended the different components together. This is going to be one of the best custom blends I've ever seen. I'll keep watching! Edited February 9, 2012 by Wagoneer81
Ira Posted February 9, 2012 Author Posted February 9, 2012 I really like that back end now that I see the fenders on. Are you going to extent the inside of the fenders forward to close them off? Thanks Mike! Yes, I will be working on fine tuning the fenders. I have 2 or 3 mods to do to the fenders, after NNL West, this weekend...
Ira Posted February 9, 2012 Author Posted February 9, 2012 READY for NNL WEST!!! Sanded down the body pretty smooth with 220 grit and applied Gray Primer. CORDVETTE is ready for the Primer Table at NNL West, this weekend! More photos coming...

Dr. Cranky Posted February 10, 2012 Posted February 10, 2012 Ira, here's something you should consider since this body is turnout out so beautiful. I wonder if you should talk to the folks over at Jimmy Flintstone or The Modelhaus about doing a mold of this one so it's available on the market. I think it's a great vehicle and the body's coming along so well. Just an idea, my friend.

Vince Nemanic Posted February 16, 2012 Posted February 16, 2012 I really enjoyed seeing you and Dolores at the NNL last week. The Cordvette looks great, something I would have never dreamt up. I guess this is kind of like a kindergartener criticizing Da Vinci, but I think that the taillight area is too flat when viewed from above. Do you think that you could laminate a bit of sheet plastic and contour it so that the bulge at mid door height would continue to the tip of the tail? The rest of the back of the car is so curvy, that the flatness of this area is a bit harsh. Or perhaps that is the idea and I just am barking up the wrong tree.

It was Great seeing you again at NNL West Vince! Thanks for the kind comments and suggestions. I am taking a little break from the Cordvette right now to plan the next set of modifications. There will be a Smoooooth transition between the rear and the fenders... I am thinking about upper & lower webs between them and I am also playing with some Milliput, possibly to round out the seam. I started a AA/MR Monster Fink Dragster today during the Cordvette break...Photos later! Edited February 22, 2012 by Ira
