zaina Posted January 31, 2012 Posted January 31, 2012 took home a first place with this one also...very surprised on that one. usual wiring and machined items as well as my first attempt at opening a trunk. also first time using alclad. enjoy!
Bernard Kron Posted January 31, 2012 Posted January 31, 2012 I can totally understand why this would be a prize winner. Besides being absolutely sanitary in execution, the wheel and tire change out, opening doors and trunk, interior details, etc. are all ready made for the contest table. But most importantly, I think it's how well you captured the current style in retro-gassers for the street (I'm assuming this started out as the Revell SWC kit). I'm not sure whether you meant to do that but that's my take on it and I'm sure I'm not the only one to pick up on that vibe. Congrats on a super build and a great looking car to boot!
62rebel Posted January 31, 2012 Posted January 31, 2012 this appears to be the new Willys tool and not the old SWC kit; the SWC came with opening doors and trunk. i haven't built one of the new Willys but i do have two SWC coupes in the stash, old builtups. very nice detail and paint work!
zaina Posted February 1, 2012 Author Posted February 1, 2012 thanks guys for the wonderful comments! yes this is the newest issue of the swc willys. bernard kron, you are right. that is exactley the look i was giong for. actually, i got my inspiration from an issue of hot rod magazine. here is the photo. thanks again. andy
Bernard Kron Posted February 1, 2012 Posted February 1, 2012 I like yours better. The wheel/tire combo and abundance of polish and chrome makes it realy pop.
