Kit Basher Posted February 1, 2012 Posted February 1, 2012 I painted this cab for the Post-apocalypse CBP. I really like how the color came out so I wanted to show it to you guys before I trash it. It is Testors bottle paint, "Green Metal Flake" sprayed the Donn Yost way, over black Duplicolor primer. The picture doesn't quite do it justice, as it is really dark, almost black in some lights. Anyway, I will definitely use it again, on something SHINY! (BTW, this is straight from the airbrush, no clear, no polish.)
rhs856 Posted February 1, 2012 Posted February 1, 2012 Just to show what it looks like over other primers. I used it on the bare plastic on this Beetle. This is the green over Model Master's Aluminum Metalizer.
espo Posted February 1, 2012 Posted February 1, 2012 Looks great. I'll have to remember this in the future. Thanks for the info.
Mike Kucaba Posted February 1, 2012 Posted February 1, 2012 Testor's enamels are junk from the spray can,but perform beautifully when thinned properly an applied with an airbrush. Although I favor different thinning chemicals than Donn,I'm pleased that his videos were able to get this info out.
