LoneWolf15 Posted February 5, 2012 Posted February 5, 2012 That hudson looks good in that color combo wow ! But we need to see pictures of the new revell 48 ford coupe thats in hiding. Come on young man lets see it. If I could ever keep it out of the brake fluid long enough to get some paint on it , I would ! Lmao! 4 trips so far , Murphy is in the back pocket on this one , little stupid things , but none the less , that's the situation ! I'll get there !
LoneWolf15 Posted February 5, 2012 Posted February 5, 2012 Mike, are you calling Donn or me a "young" man? If he is , either or , methinks Mike needs a new pair of eyeglasses or an eye exam . I , however , have not be photographed in public in a rest home's version of a footied sleeper ! My eyes still hurt from that image ! Wait up , Mike , I'll go to the eye doctor with you , mine have been seared by a horrible vision in a jump suit !
Kustom Rodder Posted February 5, 2012 Posted February 5, 2012 (edited) Just had a eye exam 20/20 brother! I have no doubt in my mind it will be outstanding hopefully you will have it at the buckeye classic. Edited February 5, 2012 by Kustom Rodder
LoneWolf15 Posted February 5, 2012 Posted February 5, 2012 Just had a eye exam 20/20 brother! I have no doubt in my mind it will be outstanding hopefully you will have it at the buckeye classic. Don't know about the ' 48 Ford , it's gonna be close ! I will , however , have a ' 49 Merc you might like ! Along with a few other new ones , we'll see if the '48 joins the crew in time !
BOSWELL891 Posted February 5, 2012 Posted February 5, 2012 Got a question tried my first ever enamel paint job today and it was really rough and not glossy at all, what did i do wrong?
LoneWolf15 Posted February 5, 2012 Posted February 5, 2012 You sprayed from too far of a distance from the body , you need to move in closer with your airbrush !
BOSWELL891 Posted February 5, 2012 Posted February 5, 2012 Oh ok thanks a lot i knew something wasn't right
Dr. Cranky Posted February 5, 2012 Author Posted February 5, 2012 The beauty of working with enamels and the Paasche H airbrush is that regulator needle can be adjusted and opened all the way to get the right amount of paint on the body, starting with those seems and sharp angles where the paint tends to pull away.
RustedBronco Posted February 5, 2012 Posted February 5, 2012 Wicked paint jobs. Wish mine looked half that good!!!!!!!!!!
BOSWELL891 Posted February 5, 2012 Posted February 5, 2012 Went for round 2 today and the paint came out great really glossy and smooth can't wait to polish it, it wil really pop then
Dr. Cranky Posted February 5, 2012 Author Posted February 5, 2012 Cole, good to hear and I hope you'll share your results!
brett Posted February 6, 2012 Posted February 6, 2012 Hey Doc, heres my latest paint (with the dreaded ladies perfume, lacquer )
geetee66 Posted February 6, 2012 Posted February 6, 2012 This is the level to which I aspire. I think I'll have to practice a lot more, or win the lottery and give up work and spend all day doing my cars.
edward smith Posted February 7, 2012 Posted February 7, 2012 Thick or not, I wish I painted like that.
Dr. Cranky Posted February 7, 2012 Author Posted February 7, 2012 Hey Doc, heres my latest paint (with the dreaded ladies perfume, lacquer ) Nice job, Brett, nothing beats a mirror finish. Love the color too.
crazyjim Posted February 7, 2012 Posted February 7, 2012 Nice job, Brett, nothing beats a mirror finish. Love the color too. I can't believe you said that Dr. Cranky. Mirror finish as in SHINY? I thought you were rusty & crusty through and through. Are you coming over to the bright side?
LoneWolf15 Posted February 7, 2012 Posted February 7, 2012 Brett , Outstanding use of ladies perfume ! Lol ! That is beautiful . I just can't figure out what that thing is in the roof's reflection holding a camera to it's eye ! Lmao !
scalenut Posted February 7, 2012 Posted February 7, 2012 can someone clarify "ladies perfume lacquer"? .. I don't get it, something from a beauty shop?
Dr. Cranky Posted February 7, 2012 Author Posted February 7, 2012 Jim, you and I are going to one day do a duet of that infamous Donny & Marie Osmond song: I'm a little bit RUSTY, I'm a little bit SHINY TOO! I'm a bit more flexible than you are, my friend. At least I go over to the SHINY side every once in a while.
Dr. Cranky Posted February 7, 2012 Author Posted February 7, 2012 Andy, it was just a joke about turning that cheap lacquer scent into a lady's brand perfume. Just like Doctor Cranky likes to splash on a little bit of styrene aftershave!
brett Posted February 7, 2012 Posted February 7, 2012 Brett , Outstanding use of ladies perfume ! Lol ! That is beautiful . I just can't figure out what that thing is in the roof's reflection holding a camera to it's eye ! Lmao ! Me either Donn, but it scares the heck outta me every time I walk past a mirror , one minute theres nothing there then wham there it is rofl. Thanks for the compliments though guys.
LoneWolf15 Posted February 7, 2012 Posted February 7, 2012 Being that I work with gloss on a consistent basis , I scare myself daily ! Kinda wish Virgil did , though ! One glance in that gloss reflection of what he looks like in that jumpsuit would do it . He'd run right outta the shop screaming at the top of his lungs , right back to his wardrobe ! My eyeballs are still suffering from the searing they took after seeing that ompa lompa attire ! Lmao !
Kustom Rodder Posted February 8, 2012 Posted February 8, 2012 Wow the old man needs some rust in his diet what do you think Doc?
