jerseyjunker1 Posted February 4, 2012 Posted February 4, 2012 this is a 1/24th scale motomax diecast 1979 chrysler lebaron t&c wagon that i rebuilt into a near complete car with a blown engine that has been towed into the yard. i just kinda threw this together last week while i was waiting for a few models to ship to me that i am going to junk out for a couple of customers. from the factory the model has opening front doors and hood but the back doors and hatch are sealed. so without putting to much time into it i made one back door open and the hatch open. took it apart aged and rusted it put in some side glass and this is what i got.
Scalper Posted February 4, 2012 Posted February 4, 2012 Thats cool.. I wish they would make a kit of these old Chryslers.
bbowser Posted February 4, 2012 Posted February 4, 2012 Bad Motor. Like that's it's only problem? Great weathering, I'm in awe of your rusting skills. Next stop, boneyard.
Austin T Posted February 4, 2012 Posted February 4, 2012 I don't like it.........I love it!Looks great,now all you need is some flamingo's, lawn chairs, and a mobile home.
Funkster Posted February 4, 2012 Posted February 4, 2012 very good model, I use to own a 79 Dodge Diplomat wgn, white with tan interior w/318cid motor.
hotrod59f100 Posted February 4, 2012 Posted February 4, 2012 (edited) Come on Manny do you really have to pick on the New Yorkers on here? Lol .we can't help that the state and county put so much salt on the roads. Lol. looks perfect in my eyes. You did a A1 job on that beauty . Edited February 4, 2012 by hotrod59f100
Foxer Posted February 5, 2012 Posted February 5, 2012 (edited) That ship has definatly been on the road more than once! Great work. Edited February 5, 2012 by Foxer
The Modeling Hermit Posted February 5, 2012 Posted February 5, 2012 (edited) Manny, I hate to mention this, but the engine doesn't appear to be the only thing bad there. LOL You've done some beautiful weathering. Edited February 5, 2012 by Kodiak Island Modeler
bondo bill Posted February 5, 2012 Posted February 5, 2012 cool build--but i don't like it it has a bad motor-haha
CorvairJim Posted February 5, 2012 Posted February 5, 2012 I have trouble getting my plastic models to look this well weathered. VERY impressive work! It must be kind of difficult cutting the metal that precisely for the doors and hatch. At least this old raod warrior still has all four wheel covers and the tires still hold air. That's got to be worth something!
Abell82 Posted February 5, 2012 Posted February 5, 2012 Very good... err bad... err ... ah... yeah,.. way to go?
michael1969 Posted February 5, 2012 Posted February 5, 2012 All I can think of is the "Griswald's Wagon". lol It does ook cool though.
Reeves Racing Posted February 6, 2012 Posted February 6, 2012 (edited) It reminded me of the Griswald's "Wagon Queen Family Truckster" to ... or at least what it looked like after the trip... Edited February 6, 2012 by Reeves Racing
wraith Posted February 6, 2012 Posted February 6, 2012 Very Nicely done! opening a door on a diecast! very nice!!! I have the 86 Diplomat patrol car I want to "FULLY" detail. or detail as much as possible. Looking to find a chassis, front suspension, rear suspension, and motor-trans. I want to build a replica South Dakota Highway Patrol car to use with all my other MOPAR models. ANd something a lil more period correct to pull a muscle car over. Crown vic is too new and wrong make for me! lol! I would love to see more of this build and the full detailing you did. Like the motor and chassis.
