bigphoto Posted February 7, 2012 Posted February 7, 2012 I think it is very cool that Round 2 has started puting ads in Ol Skool Rods magazine the current issue advertises the Slot car kits the previous issue the the Munster Koach plus there was an article by Alan Mayes about building model cars plus there was a readers comment by our own resident physician Doc. Cranky. This is a real boon to our hobby to see our stuff with the 1:1 boys.
Erik Smith Posted February 7, 2012 Posted February 7, 2012 I think it's cool as well. I have been researching for the cannonball run community build and reading a bunch of magazines from 1962. There are model adds and articles throughout the magazines.
Casey Posted February 7, 2012 Posted February 7, 2012 Revell used to have ads in Hot Rod magazine, as did AMT in the early '70s.
moparmagiclives Posted February 7, 2012 Posted February 7, 2012 You know, I'm thinking I seen an add for round 2 in another mag as well. Never gave it much thought until now, it is something that hasn't been around for a wile.
Dr. Cranky Posted February 7, 2012 Posted February 7, 2012 That's a good market to advertise in . . . more power to them.
mr moto Posted February 9, 2012 Posted February 9, 2012 Seriously showing my age here but I remember a time before there were ANY model car magazines. Back then Car Craft and especially Rod & Custom ran model car articles every month - how-to's, contest coverage, R&C even sponsored a national mail-in scale drag meet for 1/24 slot cars. Of course, that's where the model companies advertised including Budd Anderson's monthly column-style ad ("The Cat from AMT")in R&C.
