"Cannonball" 70 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am

I'd been wanting to replicate this car for a while now. I'd got this Monogram 70 Trans Am in a trade thanks to member Tim Jones a.k.a tjones87. First order of business was chucking the kits automatic tranny & shifter in favor of a 4-speed from a Revell 78 Trans Am with a shortened Nascar shifter to match the one in the movie car.

That car is AWESOME!!! I saw that movie when I was a little kid. Hated when they kicked out the headlight. You GOTTA make it!

Some work done on the frame since i'd chucked the kits automatic tranny for a 4-speed the kits crossmember wasnt cutting it so i'd used one from the parts box.

Is that a 70 T A? I'm not up on Pont. I didn't think they use this body till 71? or 72? Just asking cause you prob did your research and like I said I dont follow the Pontiacs that much.

You have a good start and it will look great when your done.

Its a Monogram 70 T/A. This body style was used from 70-73 and 74 had the same roof line but redesigned the front & rear.

I think I have that same computer. Nice work. I love the orange its going to be. Where are you going to get the decals?
