Lownslow Posted February 7, 2012 Posted February 7, 2012 just got this its a Ronco with 7 trays no on/off switch the top has a spinning thing which im guessin controls the temperature i cut all but two trays since it looked tall enough for 2 bodies. now for the questions can i do 2 bodies more if i can fit them? how long can the bodies sit? how long should the bodies sit? will it work on other paint besides enamels like say autoair acrylic paint and urethane clear? how do i know if its too hot? will it be too hot at the bottom tray?
george 53 Posted February 7, 2012 Posted February 7, 2012 YES, DO NOT put ANYTHING on the BOTTOM TRAYS!!! It WILL melt! You did good with the extra height of the trays. I cut about 3 of my trays to be able to fit taller semi cabs. They work GREAT. Leave them overnite for enamels. I'm TOLD that laquers dry even faster! You'll LIKE useing it!

Dave Van Posted February 8, 2012 Posted February 8, 2012 I've been using a $9 unit from Big Lots since 1995 with no issues. No on off, no temp control. I use it with Testors, Dupli-color and Tamiya paints no issues. I leave Tamiya painted cars in for 30 minutes and they are ready for another color or foil. Testors enamel 1-2 hours. I have left them in over night with no problems. Between the dehydrator, Tamiya and bamboo stick with alligator clips it has speeded up building.
Lownslow Posted February 8, 2012 Author Posted February 8, 2012 coo, ive been wanting to use more and more enamels lately just takes forever to get anything done because of time. im just bored of the headaches with laquers
