rhs856 Posted February 8, 2012 Posted February 8, 2012 I'm going to be building a supply trading truck for the Zombie/Apocalypse build, and will need to scratch build most of the "supplies." Can anyone think of a site/forum where there are how-to pages or tutorials? A place where I can see a ton of examples to get my creative juices flowing? I've tried google, but this is one of those things where I don't know what I have to put in to get what I want. I end up with a ton of pages on scratch building a real gas generator instead!
Dr. Cranky Posted February 8, 2012 Posted February 8, 2012 Randall, check this thread out: http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=53570 Also, it's a fabulous idea you've posted this thread so that folks can feel free to add some links to valuable scratch-building resources: Here, I'll start by adding a couple of must-have places: http://www.evergreenscalemodels.com/ and http://www.plastruct.com/
Dr. Cranky Posted February 8, 2012 Posted February 8, 2012 Here's another resource for all you MESH WIRE needs: http://www.twpinc.com/
rhs856 Posted February 8, 2012 Author Posted February 8, 2012 Thanks, Doc, but I'm looking for more of a collection of how-tos or a forum dedicated to scratch building.
shucky Posted February 9, 2012 Posted February 9, 2012 Oooooh Dr. Cranky I love that link to the mesh website. Awesome and thanks!
Erik Smith Posted February 9, 2012 Posted February 9, 2012 That mesh link is really cool. Click on continue and you get a macro lens shot of he actual mesh. Only problem is $75 minimum order, and 8 square foot minimum. That's a lot, no, a lifetime of mesh!
Steve Keck Posted February 9, 2012 Posted February 9, 2012 Don't get discouraged looking at these builds. Remember they are just small parts piled on top of each other. http://www.miniwerks...890&whichpage=1 http://www.automotiv...ad.php?t=941279
