Tye Brown Posted February 10, 2012 Posted February 10, 2012 Hey Kool Kats, here's my Manx, it was good to build these old kit man I loved it. I painted under the body Liquid Chrome and just polished the red sparkle plastic Hope you enjoy it man ;D ;D ;D
Silver Foxx Posted February 10, 2012 Posted February 10, 2012 This looks great Tyrone . It has a real nice sparkle to it.
Gregg Posted February 10, 2012 Posted February 10, 2012 Tye, what is Liquid Chrome? Did you prep the underneath at all? What did you polish it with? Sorry for all the questions, may I use your model for reference in the upcoming feature on the Dune Buggy?
trogdor Posted February 10, 2012 Posted February 10, 2012 I too have the red metal flake version so I have the same questions as Gregg.
Tye Brown Posted February 10, 2012 Author Posted February 10, 2012 Thanks Fox man Hey Gregg, Liquid Chrome is basically Chrome paint in a spray can mate..I'll take a photo and send it to ya man. I didn't prep the underneath at all because I wanted that shinny sparkle look I just used plain old Turtle Wax to polish it man. Gregg I would be very honored if you featured my buggy in a upcoming feature man :D
Tye Brown Posted February 10, 2012 Author Posted February 10, 2012 This is the Liquid Chrome I used man, I don't know if you guys will have it over there but I'm sure there is something very similar man
Dr. Cranky Posted February 10, 2012 Posted February 10, 2012 Very cool, and the buggy is just perfect, crying out for a little beach sand! Thanks for sharing.
crazyjim Posted February 10, 2012 Posted February 10, 2012 Excellent little build, dude. I like your avitar and love the SHINY :)
Rob McKee Posted February 11, 2012 Posted February 11, 2012 Nice job Tye. Do you have any shots of the engine? I am working on one now and have stripped the chrome off the engine and painted it aluminum. I'd like to see what you did with yours.
62rebel Posted February 12, 2012 Posted February 12, 2012 oh... that is sooooo pretty.... how many red flaked plastic kits did they make?
Tye Brown Posted February 14, 2012 Author Posted February 14, 2012 Thank you Rob sorry mate I don't have any photos of the engine
