Reeves Racing Posted February 10, 2012 Posted February 10, 2012 This is a mostly box stock build of the AMT Dave Strickler 62 Bel Air kit. I added plumbing, carb linkage and wiring to the engine compartment and used the Proffitt Slixx decals. The paint is DupliColor Victory Red on the body and MM Italian Red on the interior. The decals on the seats are home made. I also added some brake backing plates to the wheels and some PE wire seperators.
W-409 Posted February 11, 2012 Posted February 11, 2012 This turned out very nice! I like the paintjob on it, and decals look good. Engine detailing is great too. These X-Frame Chevrolets are always nice to see, especially Stockers and Super Stockers. Thanks for sharing this build.
Bartster Posted February 11, 2012 Posted February 11, 2012 Super nice under hood detailing. Pretty race car.
Reeves Racing Posted February 12, 2012 Author Posted February 12, 2012 Thanks guys, compared to a lot of the builds on here it's nothing spactacular but I put a lot of effort in to this one. The 62 Chevy is one my favorite big bodied cars. My dad races a 63 Biscayne and I love these old Chevy's. I saw a restored version of this car run a pass at a Nostalgia Drags event a couple of years ago.
1972coronet Posted February 12, 2012 Posted February 12, 2012 Super Nice ! I'm always pleased when I see a vintage 1/4 Miler whose sponsors were dealerships which were close to my hometown ( Cone Chevrolet [Fullerton] , Don Steves Chevrolet [La Habra], Ricker Motors AMC [Whittier] , Bill Kraft AMC [Norwalk] , etc. ) , and your gorgeous build exemplifies this
wilderness1989 Posted November 19, 2013 Posted November 19, 2013 Very nice!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What color did you use for the red paint??
rv1963 Posted November 19, 2013 Posted November 19, 2013 Great work Mitch, very nice engine details, I love those 1960's muscle drag cars.
slusher Posted November 20, 2013 Posted November 20, 2013 Super nice build. Great engine detail and color pops..
