ranma Posted February 10, 2012 Posted February 10, 2012 How many of you use it instead of Testors ect?
Nick Winter Posted February 11, 2012 Posted February 11, 2012 It's all I use, Primer, Paint Clear, on oaccasion I'll use the Testors one coat lacquer clear. Nick
Ramfins59 Posted February 11, 2012 Posted February 11, 2012 I started using Duplicolor paints and Primers about 10 years ago when I got tired of all the hassles with enamel spray paints. I've also used the Testor's One Coat paints with mixed results. My biggest hassle with painting is that I have to wait til the weather is good outside. My wife and daughter complain about the smells when and if I paint in the basement or garage. I don't use an airbrush and only use rattle can paints.
realgone58 Posted February 11, 2012 Posted February 11, 2012 I use duplicolor as well as many other paints. One thing I found with the duplicolor laquer, it's best shot outdoors in the sun, warm, not too humid. Several coats, then it will buff out nicely. Always use a good primer/sealer underneath it. My favorite primer believe it or not is Dollar General Miracle Premier. Whomever they buy this stuff from is halfway decent. Have to let it cure for several days before sanding however. Been using it for about 5 years now with no problems.
martinfan5 Posted February 11, 2012 Posted February 11, 2012 I do use the primer, have only used they paint once, and did not really like out it turned out, but I have been wanting to try the paints again.
Bartster Posted February 11, 2012 Posted February 11, 2012 I just got my first Dupli-Color primer because it was suggested for my 1st resin kit. I have used their paints to replicate factory colors. Love the paint, hope I love the primer.
Kris Morgan Posted February 11, 2012 Posted February 11, 2012 I use Dupli-Color primer and, clear all the time. I use the paint as well quite a bit. Been very happy with it for about 15 years now.
Chris guthro Posted February 11, 2012 Posted February 11, 2012 love duplicolor! all i use if the funds are available at the time! as its 15.99 a can here haha
wagonmaster Posted February 12, 2012 Posted February 12, 2012 I have used Dupli color paints for 20 years. there primer is all I use as it doesn't attack plastic like others do. Gotta have the clear coat too. Tim
