ntc8733 Posted February 13, 2012 Author Posted February 13, 2012 One day it will haul a Cat but for now it's a General:
Jim B Posted February 13, 2012 Posted February 13, 2012 Looks really nice. I like the headache rack on the back. Looks like AITM?
ntc8733 Posted February 13, 2012 Author Posted February 13, 2012 Thanks Jim, yes got the rear fenders and rack from AITM.
mackinac359 Posted February 13, 2012 Posted February 13, 2012 With the flat fenders it looks more like a model 353. Nice build! Tim
Ben Posted February 14, 2012 Posted February 14, 2012 Cool!!!!!!!!!!!! I like the Pete, trailer and General!
Chad Posted February 14, 2012 Posted February 14, 2012 Awesome builds! i love the general! some tips on those stacks would be great. Chad
ntc8733 Posted February 14, 2012 Author Posted February 14, 2012 Thanks everyone, Chad the stacks are pretty easy, I actually sand down the original stacks until they fit inside plastic tube then cover them in BMF.
Jim B Posted February 14, 2012 Posted February 14, 2012 I must be blind. I didn't even notice the front fenders. They really do give it that construction, 353 look. I like your choice of colors, too.
Truck parts Posted February 14, 2012 Posted February 14, 2012 They are great looking. What trailer did you use?
catd11rpusher Posted February 14, 2012 Posted February 14, 2012 I think you did a nice job both trucks look very nice The stacks look cool what are those? Tubing. NICE WORK
ntc8733 Posted February 14, 2012 Author Posted February 14, 2012 Gordon, it's the Revell of Germany heavy duty trailer. Mike, I used 3/8" Evergreen tube that slides right over most stock pipes with a little sanding. I then cover them with BMF. Thanks again for the compliments.
Chad Posted February 14, 2012 Posted February 14, 2012 I didn't even realize but you're only about 4o miles from me, I'm in Hampton just south of you! Chad
ntc8733 Posted February 14, 2012 Author Posted February 14, 2012 Cool. Go there all the time, race RC cars in Hayes.
BigBad Posted February 14, 2012 Posted February 14, 2012 (edited) Lots of diamond plate on that one! Good work! I really got to get myself a GMC General again... Did you lower the suspension on the GMC? Edited February 14, 2012 by Z06Bob
ntc8733 Posted February 14, 2012 Author Posted February 14, 2012 Thanks Bob, yeah I just heated up the leaf springs and pushed them closer to the frame just like the old school hot rodders and low riders used to do
camaro68 Posted February 14, 2012 Posted February 14, 2012 Great looking truck like the colors and fenders are they scratch built
ntc8733 Posted February 14, 2012 Author Posted February 14, 2012 Donovan, I robbed them from the Revell Germany Western Life Pete 353. Guess it would have been easier to just use that kit, but got other plans for that one.
Truck parts Posted February 16, 2012 Posted February 16, 2012 Neil. Thank you for the information on the trailer.
