Kaleb Posted February 24, 2012 Posted February 24, 2012 (edited) What do you get when you cross an Eclipse, cadillac engine and NASCAR roll cage, and big slicks. I know there a lot of "regulations" that this build will not follow but it's a model just about anything goes. This is what I have began with, and I have a build before this one and it will be a slow progress, because I need a good chassis for it. :edit: the engine shown is not the caddy engine. martinfan5 Posted February 24, 2012 Posted February 24, 2012 (edited) Well last time I checked, this was a hobby and about having fun and being creative , so have fun with this one Edited February 24, 2012 by martinfan5
Dr. Cranky Posted February 24, 2012 Posted February 24, 2012 Kaleb, I like where it's headed, and yes, it's your build so keep having fun. We'll enjoy all the eye candy you want to fling at us.
Custom Mike Posted February 24, 2012 Posted February 24, 2012 I've done one like this Kaleb, but used a 426 Hemi in it. Keep at it, and don't sweat the "reality" factor, just have fun. Mine doesn't have a roll cage, so you've already gone further than I did!
Kaleb Posted February 24, 2012 Author Posted February 24, 2012 O I'm not sweating it, just discouragings all the nit pickers, and nay Sayers. I'm not sure on how to run these slicks because of the chassis. And the only other chassis I have is the 66 nova and its actually going to the nova. next step is finding a reared for this thing.
Viperfanboy Posted February 25, 2012 Posted February 25, 2012 (edited) Sweet build, btw I noticed the Dodge Viper WIP in the background. Edited February 25, 2012 by Viperfanboy
hotrod59f100 Posted February 25, 2012 Posted February 25, 2012 Where did you get that paint case in the background?
Kaleb Posted February 25, 2012 Author Posted February 25, 2012 Thank you, and its the viper acr candy apple red when i get to that step which hopefully will be tomorrow. The paint case is actually an organizer that you can pick up at lowes it helps abundantly. I have more progress pics that ill be posting in a little bit.
Kaleb Posted February 25, 2012 Author Posted February 25, 2012 I changed the wheels and tires to go more of a street rod cutting this part out for the rear end
Kaleb Posted February 25, 2012 Author Posted February 25, 2012 I took the fuel cell from the nascar and will add some streyne to it The fuel cell will fit down in the hole when im done. I have the roll cage narrowed down but no pics yet.
hotrod59f100 Posted February 25, 2012 Posted February 25, 2012 Thanks for the tip that helps out a lot. Btw looking great so far.
Kaleb Posted February 25, 2012 Author Posted February 25, 2012 ill post a better pic here in a few min of the case itself so you will know more of what to look for.
Custom Mike Posted February 26, 2012 Posted February 26, 2012 I used the chassis from AMT's '70 Super Bee Pro-Street on mine. I had to chop a section out of the center, and rework the back end, but it did fit...eventually!
Kaleb Posted February 26, 2012 Author Posted February 26, 2012 That's sweet, I changed the wheels and tires on this build and they fit right into the wheel wells. And I can use the NASCAR rearend
Kaleb Posted February 29, 2012 Author Posted February 29, 2012 (edited) The progress is actually going faster than I thought. Here is another update. I may stick with the engine that was posted in the first pic Now with the body on Edited February 29, 2012 by Kaleb
