I've got a question, I have an original Hubley? 63 galaxie, needs restored coz it has some broken parts ( the a-piller ) The chassis has 4 screws & stamped writing all over it telling about features of the real car. The body seems to be painted by the factory, is this right? & if it is, would that have been laquer? Could I sand it smooth and shoot primer over that? I'll get pics soon to show it's condition, it's not bad, I just want to fix it up, Thanks for any help, Sixx

From what I recall, Hubley didn't make a 63. Just several different 1960's Ford's, four door, wagon etc. Ill check mcm, there was a feature about Hubley.

Hubley did '60-'62 fullsize Fords, but not a '63. Judging from that and the fact you mentioned it has printing on the various chassis parts, I'd say you have an original AMT dealer promo.

What you said sounds right to me, sorry, no pics yet. Did amt paint them? just wondering coz the inside of the body, in spots, are bare plastic & the outside is a metallic turquoise? Yeah I know pics would help, I'll try to get some up later. Thanks Chuck

Yes many AMT promos were painted. I'm not sure about all of them, chassis & interior were just bare plastic.

Here is a Hubley 62 Ford Wagon. It was a kit not a promo I started with.

I have 2 AMT promos a 63, and a 65 both are factory paint colors with the interior the same as the body.
